Disney World’s new BoardWalk lounge opens on the resort’s 55th anniversary. It’s for all ages until 9 p.m., then 21-and-up with live music until 1 a.m.
The lights are about to come back on in one of the BoardWalk’s most famous rooms.
Hurly-Burly, Disney’s new lounge at Disney’s BoardWalk, opens Thursday, Oct. 1. It takes over the space where Jellyrolls ran its dueling piano bar for almost three decades.
The date isn’t random, either. Oct. 1 is Walt Disney World’s 55th anniversary. Magic Kingdom opened on Oct. 1, 1971.
What are Hurly-Burly’s hours at Disney’s BoardWalk?
Hurly-Burly is open 4 PM to 1 AM every day, according to Disney Food Blog. It works in two shifts:
4 PM to 9 PM: All ages, with trivia, games and activities
9 PM to 1 AM: Guests 21 and older only, with live music
So families can stop in for a snack and a game in the afternoon, and the grown-ups can come back later for the late show. Disney Tourist Blog expects families to be seated by around 8 PM so the room can turn over before the cutoff.
What is the Hurly-Burly theme?
It’s built around the idea of an old seaside vaudeville theater. Disney’s description calls it “a historic seaside theater, once the home of the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers.”
That fits the BoardWalk’s whole look, which is inspired by the Atlantic City and Coney Island boardwalks of the early 1900s. The name fits too. “Hurly-burly” is an old word for a noisy, busy commotion, and Shakespeare uses it in “Macbeth.” It’s a good name for a room that plans to be loud after 9 p.m.
What’s on the Hurly-Burly menu?
Small bites, drinks and some theater-style snacks. The food lineup, as reported by WDWInfo and Disney Tourist Blog, includes:
Meatballs in tomato gravy (plant-based option available)
Antipasto
Mini pretzels with bacon-cheese fondue
Tomato pie (plant-based option available)
Oven-roasted shrimp
Roast beef sliders
Theater concessions
Mini apple cider doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce
On the drink side, there are cocktails like an Overproof Amaretto Sour and a Cherry-Vodka Limeade, plus wine, beer, hard cider and hard seltzer. Non-alcoholic picks include a Caramel Corn Cold Brew and a lemonade called the Cherry Marquee.
Disney Tourist Blog puts the small bites at $11 to $21 and most cocktails around $20.
Can you make reservations at Hurly-Burly?
No. It’s walk-up only, with no Advance Dining Reservations, per Disney Tourist Blog.
There’s also a walk-up window for some drinks to go, including the Caramel Corn Cold Brew and the Cherry Marquee. That’s handy if you just want a coffee for the walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway.
One heads-up for anyone staying off-site: BoardWalk parking can get tight at night, and without reservations there’s no guaranteed spot waiting for you.
What happened to Jellyrolls?
Jellyrolls opened at the BoardWalk in 1996 and played its last night on April 19, 2025. It was run by an independent company, not Disney, and Disney Tourist Blog has reported that high rent was part of why it left.
That means the space will have sat dark for 530 days by the time Hurly-Burly opens its doors.
Jellyrolls isn’t gone for good. In April, it announced a new home in Lake Buena Vista, about 10 minutes from Disney World, with plans to open this year. So fans of the dueling pianos can still get their fix. They’ll just need a car or a rideshare.
What else is happening at Disney World on Oct. 1?
Oct. 1 is a big date on the calendar. Along with the 55th anniversary, the first week of October brings more changes to Walt Disney World, including Magic Kingdom’s Diamond Horseshoe returning Oct. 4 with a new menu.
If you’re heading to the BoardWalk that week, Hurly-Burly is a new stop to add. Just keep the 9 p.m. rule in mind if the kids are with you.
