Japan’s Disney lottery merchandise spiked in worldwide searches this week. Belle and Beast figures headline the new set, a second Disney line follows Sept. 26, and the whole system works nothing like American blind boxes.
Ichiban Kuji Disney Princess: Enchanted Glow goes on sale Sept. 5 at 7-Eleven, Ito-Yokado and Yume Town stores across Japan.
The set centers on “Beauty and the Beast,” and it is one of two Disney lottery lines launching in Japan this month.
What is Ichiban Kuji and how does it work
The model is genuinely different from anything sold in American toy aisles.
Ichiban Kuji is a lottery merchandise system run by Bandai Spirits. You pay a flat price per draw, pull a ticket, and receive whatever prize that ticket corresponds to.
Every ticket wins. There are no blanks.
Prizes are ranked by letter, starting at A for the largest items and descending through smaller goods. Whoever draws the final ticket in a box receives a separate Last One Prize.
Most sets also run a Double Chance campaign, letting buyers enter spent tickets for an additional prize drawing after the fact.
The June Disney set, World of Imagination, priced draws at ¥790 including tax, roughly five dollars.
What is in the Enchanted Glow Disney Princess set
The top two prizes are built to be displayed together.
Prize A is a Belle figure standing about 16 centimeters, with attention paid to the sculpting of her ball gown.
Prize B is the Beast at about 18 centimeters, designed as her counterpart. Placed side by side, the two recreate the ballroom scene where their eyes meet.
Prize C is a collection box shaped like a book, holding metal charms of Belle, the Beast and the enchanted rose. The charms can be worn or displayed.
Prizes D through F are glasses featuring Belle, Rapunzel and Ariel.
Last One Prize is a Beauty and the Beast stained glass lamp.
The second Disney lottery set arrives Sept. 26
A different company is running a separate line three weeks later.
Happy Kuji: Disney IDOL ON STAGE launches Sept. 26 at the same three retail chains, announced Sept. 3 by Sunny Side Up Inc.
The theme puts Disney characters in glittering idol-style stage costumes.
Prizes include plush charms sized around 7.5 centimeters for Mickey, Donald and Daisy, 8 centimeters for Minnie, 8.5 centimeters for Goofy, 6.5 centimeters for Max, 6 centimeters for Clarice and about 4.6 centimeters for Chip and Dale.

Why American Disney fans rarely hear about this
These sets are sold in Japanese convenience stores and supermarkets. Most Ichiban Kuji runs have no online sales, which the June Disney set confirmed on its official product page.
Stock is finite. When the prizes for a given set run out at a store, that store is done.
Many wish they offered this in the United States as well.
What other Disney Ichiban Kuji sets have run
The line has been steady, and the range is wider than princesses.
Stitch: Every day with you! launched June 19. A Toy Story set followed July 10. World of Imagination, featuring Mickey and friends in original outfits, arrived June 5 with an A3 special poster on silver-deposited paper as its top prize.
Winnie the Pooh: Cozy Winter Days ran in January. Online-only sets have covered Disney Twisted-Wonderland and Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Last year’s princess set, Dream in color, launched almost exactly a year before this one, in September 2025.
How to find Disney Ichiban Kuji in Japan
Availability varies by store..
Bandai Spirits notes that individual shops may start later than the announced date or decline to carry a set at all. 7-Eleven locations in particular have historically staggered launches, with some stores putting sets out the evening of release and others the following day.
Sets end when the prizes are gone.
Anyone visiting Japan this month has two Disney lottery lines to look for, and September also brings a “Bleach” set too.
