Disney World's schedule shows the classic France pavilion film shrinking to one 30-minute morning window starting Jan. 1, though the change could still turn out to be a mistake.
One of EPCOT's oldest attractions is about to get a lot harder to catch. Starting Jan. 1, 2027, Impressions de France only appears on Disney World's schedule from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The evening showtimes are gone.
That's what the My Disney Experience app shows, according to BlogMickey, which spotted the change on Nov. 2. Disney hasn't announced anything, and BlogMickey says Disney World hasn't answered its request for clarification.
So keep the salt shaker handy. This might be a glitch. If it's real, though, the film loses its best time slot.
What is changing with Impressions de France?
Right now, the film plays twice a day at the Palais du Cinema in EPCOT's France pavilion: 9 to 9:30 a.m. and 7 to 8:45 p.m. The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along fills the hours in between, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
That split schedule runs every day through Dec. 31, New Year's Eve included.
Starting Jan. 1, the app lists only the morning window. The Sing-Along keeps its 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. hours, and nothing at all is listed in the theater after 6:30 p.m.
Three January days skip the film entirely. EPCOT opens late, at 10 a.m., on Jan. 7, 9 and 10, so there's no Impressions de France window those mornings. The Sing-Along starts at 11 a.m. on those dates.
Could the Impressions de France change be a mistake?
Possibly. When Disney cut the film back to mornings in March 2023, the Sing-Along picked up the evening hours. This time the evening block is just blank, and a dark theater in the France pavilion during the dinner rush would be a strange choice. BlogMickey flagged the empty slot as a possible error.
Disney has also reversed this exact move before. On March 7, 2023, it cut Impressions de France to a single morning window. Three days later, on March 10, the 7 p.m. showings were back.
Schedules past Jan. 12 aren't posted yet, so the evening shows could still return later in 2027.
How long has Impressions de France been at EPCOT?
Since the beginning. The film has played in the France pavilion since EPCOT opened in 1982, which makes it one of the park's original attractions still running.
It's an 18-minute trip across the French countryside, cities and coast, set to French classical music and shown on a wide set of screens that wrap around the room.
It hasn't had the theater to itself in years. The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along debuted in January 2020 and took over most of the day, leaving Impressions de France the morning and evening bookends. The theater also closed for refurbishment this February and reopened in May with the same split schedule.
How to see Impressions de France before and after the change
You've got through Dec. 31 to catch an evening show. Dinner at Les Chefs de France followed by the 7 p.m. film is about as French as a Florida night gets.
In 2027, plan on mornings. The 9 a.m. window lines up with EPCOT's usual opening time on most days, but the film runs 18 minutes and the window is only 30 minutes long. Get to France right at opening if you want a seat.
While you're in France, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is right around the corner. The trackless ride opened in the pavilion in 2021 and pairs nicely with a pastry from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie.
Coming from the BoardWalk area or the Skyliner? The International Gateway entrance puts you just steps from the France pavilion, which beats a hike across the whole park.
Disney World had not commented on the schedule change as of Monday.
