Jif makes ramen now. And it’s adding flavors.
The peanut butter brand’s instant noodle line has two new versions on shelves: Pad Thai Stir-Fry Style Noodles and Hot Honey Peanut Butter Flavored Ramen, per Sporked on Sept. 22. Shoppers have spotted Pad Thai at Hy-Vee and Hot Honey at Walmart, with more stores expected.
It’s the second wave of what might be the strangest product Jif has ever made.
What are Jif peanut butter noodles?

The first one, Jif Peanut Butter Stir-Fry Style Noodles, started turning up in stores in March, per Sporked, at Dollar Tree and other retailers for about $1.50 a cup. You add water, microwave for three minutes and stir in the seasoning.
The packet inside is a peanut butter-flavored sauce mix, per Sporked, which keeps the cup shelf stable. So you’re getting Jif’s flavor in a noodle-friendly form, with no jar involved.
The reviews were better than you’d think. Hans Lienesch, who reviews instant noodles as The Ramen Rater, gave the original a 5 out of 5. “It’s really good,” he wrote, adding that it has “a nice strong peanut butter flavor” that’s “not so overbearing that it’s boorish.”
What do the new Jif Pad Thai and Hot Honey noodles taste like?
Sporked says both go for “more complex flavor profiles” than the plain peanut butter original.
Pad Thai is the obvious next step, since peanut sauce is already part of the dish. Hot Honey leans into the sweet-and-spicy trend that’s shown up on everything from pizza to fried chicken.
Neither has a published price yet.
Where can you buy Jif ramen?

Jif hasn’t posted a store list, so this is a check-the-noodle-aisle situation for now.
Why is Jif making noodles?
Because Jif wants you to think of peanut butter as more than a sandwich spread.
In August, parent company J.M. Smucker gave Jif its first major brand refresh in more than 30 years. The new packaging shows peanut butter with apples, rice cakes and crackers instead of just bread. “Jif To Go” got renamed “Jif Dippers,” and Jif added a peanut butter and chocolate spread.
“This is our first major design update in more than 30 years, and we approached it with real intention,” said Shelly Kowal, a marketing director at Smucker, in the announcement.
The noodles aren’t in that release. But they fit the idea: peanut butter at lunch, dinner and 11 p.m., not just in a lunchbox.
Is peanut butter ramen actually a thing?
It’s been a thing online for years. Mixing a spoonful of peanut butter into instant ramen, with soy sauce and chili oil, is a popular dorm-room hack and a regular on TikTok.
Jif basically bottled the hack and put its name on it. For $1.50, the barrier to trying it is about as low as it gets.
Whether Pad Thai or Hot Honey becomes the one people stock up on is up to the noodle aisle now.
