Jimmy John’s is giving out plush pickle keychains with its Picklewich meal. Plus Chipotle’s brisket, a Marvel tease from Jack in the Box and a vanilla Pepsi.
Pickle fans, your collectible era has arrived. Jimmy John’s started handing out tiny plush pickles this week, and they come in blind bags.
Jimmy John’s Pickle Pals launched Tuesday, Oct. 27, with the chain’s Triple Pickle meal, according to parent company Inspire Brands. There are five Pickle Pals to collect, each a plush pickle keychain: Lulu, J.J., Big John, Vito and an ultra-rare one named Tom.
The catch is how you get one. Pickle Pals only come with the Triple Pickle meal, which includes your choice of six Picklewich builds, a bag of Pickle chips and one Pickle Pal. They’re available in stores and at the drive-thru only, while supplies last, and you can’t pick which one you get.
There’s one per person per order, and no swaps. Some outlets list a Nov. 23 end date, but Jimmy John’s hasn’t confirmed one, so don’t wait too long if you want the whole set.
What is the Jimmy John’s Picklewich?
It’s a sandwich that uses a giant pickle instead of bread. The Picklewich and Jimmy John’s Pickle flavored Jimmy Chips came back Oct. 26 at participating locations nationwide.
Jimmy John’s hasn’t listed a price for the meal, so check your local store or the app.
When is Chipotle’s brisket coming back?
Thursday, Nov. 5. Chipotle’s Smoked Brisket returns for a limited time at restaurants across the U.S. and Canada, the company announced Oct. 26. Chipotle calls it mesquite-smoked, and it’s timed for the heart of football season.
To push it, Chipotle is offering $0 delivery on brisket orders from Nov. 5 to 18 through its app and website. There’s a $10 minimum order, and menu prices are higher on delivery orders.
Chipotle hasn’t said when the brisket leaves menus.
Is Jack in the Box teaming up with Avengers: Doomsday?
It looks that way. On Oct. 26, Jack in the Box posted a video of its mascot, Jack, sitting on a throne that looks a lot like Doctor Doom’s, wearing a green cape and hood. The caption warned fans that “Something’s assembling.”
That’s all Jack in the Box has said so far. There’s no menu, price or date yet.
The timing makes sense, though. Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, hits theaters Dec. 18. Marvel Studios is part of Disney.
Where can you find Pepsi Vanilla & Cream?
PepsiCo calls Pepsi Vanilla & Cream a holiday treat, and it’s out now for a limited time nationwide. It comes in regular and Pepsi Zero Sugar versions, in 12-packs of cans and 20-ounce bottles.
It launched Oct. 19, so it’s been on shelves for about a week. Shoppers are starting to spot it in more stores now, including H-E-B in Texas.
What other new snacks are showing up in stores?
A few more finds worth a look:
Hershey’s Kisses Strawberry Sugar Cookie: A reader spotted these at Target, The Impulsive Buy reported Oct. 26. Hershey’s hasn’t officially announced them, and they aren’t on the Kisses website yet, so there’s no word on price or how long they’ll last. They’re a different flavor from the regular Sugar Cookie Kisses.
Dairy Queen holiday Blizzards: Some Dairy Queen locations are advertising a new Peanut Butter Blossom Blizzard and the returning Peppermint Bark Blizzard as early as Nov. 2, Sporked reports. The new one reportedly mixes vanilla soft serve with peanut butter topping, Hershey’s Mini Kisses and blondie brownie pieces. Dairy Queen hasn’t confirmed them yet, so check with your local DQ.
And for something completely different: Smarties candy has teamed up with Slate Auto on accessory packs for Slate’s electric pickup truck. Each of the six packs matches a Smarties pastel color and comes with decals, a key fob cap and a Smarties logo.
Yes, you can now make your truck look like a roll of Smarties. The truck itself starts at $24,950.
