Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise again on Nov. 3, 10 days before Disney World’s holiday season starts, with decorated boats and new holiday jokes.
The skippers are getting homesick again.
Jingle Cruise, the holiday version of Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise, returns on Nov. 3, 2026, WDW News Today and Kenny the Pirate reported. That’s the same start date as last year.
It also beats the rest of Disney World’s holiday season by more than a week. Magic Kingdom’s official holiday offerings don’t start until Nov. 13.
What is the Jingle Cruise at Magic Kingdom?
It’s the Jungle Cruise with a holiday makeover. The story is that the skippers are stuck in the jungle for the holidays and missing home, so they decorate with whatever they can find.
That means garlands made from jungle vines, homemade ornaments and presents that got lost in the mail. The boats get punny holiday names, and the skippers swap in a fresh batch of holiday jokes.
The ride itself is the same roughly 10-minute boat trip through Adventureland. The jokes are where the overlay earns its keep, so listen closely.
When does Jingle Cruise end in 2026?
Disney hasn’t said yet. Last year, Jingle Cruise ran from Nov. 3, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2026, and the regular Jungle Cruise came back on Jan. 2, BlogMickey reported.
Disney World’s holiday season this year runs through Jan. 6, 2027, so the overlay could stick around into early January again.
The switch happens overnight. One day it’s the Jungle Cruise, and the next morning it’s the Jingle Cruise, with no closure in between.
Do you need a Lightning Lane for the Jingle Cruise?
You don’t need one, but it can help. Jungle Cruise is one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular rides, and the holiday version tends to pull long lines too.
If you’d rather not pay, try riding early in the morning or late at night. The jokes land just as well in the dark, and the holiday lights around the boathouse look better after sunset anyway.
What other Disney World rides get holiday overlays this year?
Jingle Cruise has company this year. Disney announced a few more for the 2026 season:
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Hollywood Studios gets a holiday overlay from Nov. 4 to Jan. 6, with new songs featuring Jennifer Hudson and Cyndi Lauper.
Alien Swirling Saucers at Hollywood Studios plays holiday music from Nov. 4 to Jan. 6.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT swaps its soundtrack for three holiday songs from Nov. 25 to Jan. 6, Disney Food Blog reported.
Jingle Cruise is still the only one where the holiday cheer comes with a boat.
What else is happening at Magic Kingdom for the holidays?
The big one is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separate-ticket event on 25 select nights from Nov. 8 to Dec. 22. Some of those nights have already sold out.
Outside the party, Magic Kingdom’s holiday lineup includes the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” castle lighting with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf, plus Main Street, U.S.A., decked out for the season.
When did the Jingle Cruise start?
Jingle Cruise first set sail at Magic Kingdom in 2013. It’s been a fan favorite ever since, partly because the skippers get to show off new material every year.
So if you rode it last year, don’t assume you’ve heard every joke. Skippers often work in lines of their own.
