The BTS member now has three solo music videos past 300 million. Plus, SBS Gayo Daejeon names its first 22 acts, Song Hye Kyo signs with a new agency and the Melon Music Awards add presenters.
Jungkook just hit another big number.
The music video for Jungkook’s solo single “3D” passed 300 million views on YouTube early Friday, Oct. 23, Korea time, Soompi reported. That’s roughly three years after it came out on Sept. 29, 2023.
It was a busy week for K-pop and K-drama news, too. Here’s what you missed.
How many Jungkook music videos have 300 million views?
Three. “3D” joins “Seven” and “Dreamers” as Jungkook’s third solo music video to pass 300 million views, according to Soompi.
“Seven” was his first official solo single, released in July 2023. “Dreamers” was his song for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“3D” features rapper Jack Harlow. Its official live performance video on BTS’s BANGTANTV channel is closing in on 80 million views, too.
The “3D” video took about three years, 23 days and 13 hours to get there. Not bad for a song that’s been out since before most of today’s rookie groups debuted.
Who is performing at the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon?
SBS announced its first lineup Friday, and it’s a big one. The year-end music festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and for the first time it’ll run over two days, Dec. 24 and 25, at KINTEX in Ilsan, South Korea, Soompi reported.
The first 22 acts are:
Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), TREASURE and ENHYPEN.
IVE, NMIXX, &TEAM and BOYNEXTDOOR.
ZEROBASEONE, RIIZE, TWS and NCT WISH.
RESCENE, MEOVV, KickFlip and Hearts2Hearts.
ALLDAY PROJECT, CORTIS, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, AND2BLE, EVAN and TUIDE.
More acts are coming. SBS said it’ll add senior artists who have performed at Gayo Daejeon in past years to mark the anniversary. The lineup for each day will come later.
TXT fans have had a good fall. The group’s “Love Language” passed 100 million Spotify streams last month, as PNP reported Sept. 28.
Who are the presenters at the 2026 Melon Music Awards?
There are 37 of them. The 18th Melon Music Awards, or MMA 2026, announced its presenter lineup Friday, Soompi reported. The show is Nov. 14 and 15 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Day 1 includes actors Lee Young Ae, Jang Keun Suk, Lee Do Hyun, Yoo Seung Ho and Han Ye Ri, among others. Comedian Kim Shin Young and chef Kwon Sung Jun will be there, too.
Day 2 brings actors including Lee Se Young, Choi Daniel and Ahn Jae Hyun, plus singer Lee Seung Chul.
The pair getting the most buzz is Byun Yo Han and Tiffany Young of Girls’ Generation. They got married earlier this year, and both are presenting on Day 2.
Why did Song Hye Kyo change agencies?
She left her old one over the summer. Song Hye Kyo parted ways with her longtime agency UAA in June after about 14 years, according to Soompi.
On Friday, her new agency, STAND, announced an exclusive contract with her and released new profile photos.
“We are honored to be working with Song Hye Kyo,” STAND said. The agency said it would support her acting work “both in Korea and abroad.”
When does Song Hye Kyo’s new Netflix show come out?
Dec. 11. Song Hye Kyo stars with Gong Yoo in the Netflix series Tantara, which premieres that day, Soompi reported.
It’s a big pairing. Song Hye Kyo led The Glory on Netflix, and Gong Yoo is best known to a lot of U.S. viewers from Squid Game and Train to Busan.
What other K-pop news happened this week?
A few more quick ones:
NCT WISH took its first win for “I SPY” on KBS’s Music Bank, Soompi reported.
Park Bo Gum returns as a licensed hairdresser in the first teaser for The Village Barber 2.
Kim Woo Bin takes over the country’s worst high school baseball team in the teaser for the drama GIFT.
