Kraft Mac & Cheese announced Cheesy Ramen on Oct. 6, its first new food category in nearly 20 years. Spicy, Chicken and Pork microwave bowls arrive nationwide in early 2027.
The blue box is going noodle shopping.
Kraft Mac & Cheese announced Cheesy Ramen on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in three flavors: Spicy, Chicken and Pork. It’s the brand’s first move into a new food category in nearly 20 years, according to Kraft Heinz, and it lands in stores nationwide in early 2027.
“We’re seeing growing demand for cheesy ramen in the U.S.,” said Nicolas Henault, vice president of marketing for Kraft Mac & Cheese. He called it “a natural opportunity to bring our cheese expertise to ramen.”
What is Kraft Mac & Cheese Cheesy Ramen?
Ramen noodles with Kraft Mac & Cheese’s cheese sauce flavor, in a microwave bowl. The packaging in Kraft’s product photo says each bowl “cooks in 3.5 minutes.”
Kraft says the ramen is made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes. Each flavor pairs the cheese with a familiar ramen flavor:
Spicy: cheese plus “a bold kick of spice”
Chicken: cheese with the umami flavor of chicken ramen
Pork: cheese with “notes of pork ramen,” for a heartier bowl
The Chicken and Pork bowls weigh 3.2 ounces each, and the Spicy one is 3.25 ounces, per the packaging.
How many calories are in Kraft Cheesy Ramen?
About 400 per bowl. The front of each package lists 390 calories for Chicken and Pork and 400 for Spicy.
Sodium is the bigger number. The Chicken bowl lists 1,220 milligrams, 53% of the daily value, and the Pork and Spicy bowls list 1,110 milligrams each, or 48%. Each bowl also has 7 grams of saturated fat.
So it’s ramen, basically. With cheese.
When can you buy Kraft Cheesy Ramen?
Early 2027, nationwide. Kraft hasn’t announced a price or a specific store list yet.
Fans who can’t wait might not have to. Kraft says to watch its Instagram (@kraft_macandcheese) and TikTok (@maccheesebykraft) for a way to get “an exclusive first taste” before the launch.
Why is Kraft making ramen?
Because people were already doing it themselves. Kraft says shoppers have been adding cheese to ramen to make it creamier and to cool down the spicy ones.
The numbers are on Kraft’s side, too. The ramen category is worth $2.7 billion and growing 9% a year, and cheesy ramen sales have doubled in the past three years, Kraft Heinz said, citing data from the market research firm Circana.
Gen Z shoppers are a big part of that growth, according to the company.
Kraft also likes to remind people how long it’s been at this. Henault said the brand has been “delivering cheesy comfort for nearly 90 years.”
What else has Kraft Mac & Cheese launched in 2026?
Kraft Mac & Cheese PowerMac came out earlier this year, and Kraft Heinz pointed to it as part of the same push to take its big brands into new places.
Both launches are backed by Kraft Heinz’s $700 million investment in its brands, according to the company.
Kraft also made a mac and cheese-flavored cream soda this fall. Only Canada got that one.
What other brands are making new ramen in 2026?
Jif and Cup Noodles, for two. Jif added new flavors to its peanut butter ramen this fall, and Cup Noodles turned its Halloween ramen blood red.
Kraft’s pitch is that cheese is the one thing it knows best. “Cheese is what Kraft Mac & Cheese does best,” the company said, “it’s in our name.”
The cheesy ramen lands in early 2027. Bring a fork, or chopsticks. The box art is going with a fork.
