Krispy Kreme is selling an Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnut from Sept. 26 through National Coffee Day on Sept. 29. A $5 dozen deal runs all four days as well, and free coffee is available Sept. 29 with any purchase.
The Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnut returns on Saturday, Sept. 26, and runs through Tuesday, Sept. 29- National Coffee Day.
The $5 dozen deal
Also happening on the same four days.
From Sept. 26 through Sept. 29, buy any dozen at regular price and you can add a dozen Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnuts for only $5. (Original Glazed may also be a choice for the dozen deal as well. It’s not 100% clear, but we will get a final answer on Saturday.)
The limits differ depending on how you order:
In-store or drive-thru: limit two per guest
Mobile app, for pickup or delivery: limit one, using promo code COFFEE
It’s while supplies last, and only at participating locations.
The free coffee isn’t entirely free, you need to buy something first.
On Sept. 29 only, Krispy Kreme is giving away a free small or medium coffee, hot or iced.
You need to buy something first.
The offer is one free coffee “with any purchase,” limit one per guest. So it works fine if you were buying a doughnut anyway. It is not a walk-in freebie.
Krispy Kreme is now doing a $5 deal almost every week
Look at the company’s release schedule this month:
Sept. 10-13: Apple Cider Original Glazed, four days, $5 dozen deal
Sept. 17-20: Original Glazed Blueberry returns, four days, $5 dozen deal
Sept. 22: Churro Doughnut Dots launch
Sept. 26-29: Original Glazed Coffee, four days, $5 dozen deal
That’s three out of four promotional product announcements in about two weeks that offered $5 doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme has turned the limited-time drop into a weekly routine.
It’s a smart move because the limited time creates a sense of urgency, but you end up buying two dozen doughnuts and half are at full price.
This is a win/win. Fans get something new constantly. The company sells two dozen instead of one.
I wonder if their fiscal quarter numbers need a boost before the end of the month?
What else is on the menu right now
The fall lineup is still running alongside this.
The Autumn Seasonal Collection launched Aug. 11 with the Maple Cheesecake Doughnut, the Cafe Mocha Doughnut, the returning Biscoff Cookie Butter Doughnut and the Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut. Drinks included a Pumpkin Spice Latte and an Apple Crisp Latte.
The Apple Cider Original Glazed Doughnut arrived Sept. 10, along with a Fall & Football Dozen built for game day.
Churro Doughnut Dots launched yesterday, Sept. 22. Each order comes with eight cinnamon sugar-coated dots and a dulce de leche dipping sauce.
So the coffee doughnut is not replacing anything. It’s stacking on top.
Where to find one
Krispy Kreme operates in more than 40 countries through its own shops, retail partnerships and a growing delivery business. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Availability varies by location, and both offers are good only at participating shops. To find a location near you, use the store locator at krispykreme.com.
If you want the coffee doughnut, Sept. 29 is the last day.
