Krispy Kreme’s Taz Chocolate Original Glazed Dozen is $5 with any dozen purchase Oct. 20-22. It features Chocolate Original Glazed doughnuts and a new Taz Chocolate Tornado doughnut.
Krispy Kreme is letting the Tasmanian Devil loose for Halloween.
The doughnut chain’s new Taz Chocolate Original Glazed Dozen is available for three days only, Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 22, at participating U.S. shops, Krispy Kreme announced.
It also marks the return of fan-favorite Chocolate Original Glazed doughnuts.
How do you get the Krispy Kreme Taz dozen for $5?
Buy any dozen first. When you buy a dozen in the shop or at the drive-thru, you can add a Taz Chocolate Original Glazed Dozen for $5, according to Krispy Kreme.
There’s a limit of two per guest.
Think of it as a buy-one, get-one deal. Buy one dozen of any doughnuts, and you’ll walk out with 24 doughnuts for the price of a dozen plus $5. It’s a sweet way to stock up for a Halloween party or office treat table.
For pickup and delivery orders through the Krispy Kreme app or website, use promo code BOGO5.
What comes in the Taz Chocolate Original Glazed Dozen?
Twelve chocolate doughnuts. The box has nine Chocolate Original Glazed doughnuts and three new Taz Chocolate Tornado doughnuts.
The Taz doughnut is a Chocolate Original Glazed doughnut topped with a green icing tornado swirl. It’s then dipped in chocolate cookie pieces, Halloween sprinkles and rainbow nonpareils.
Why is Chocolate Original Glazed so popular?
It’s Krispy Kreme’s famous glazed doughnut with a chocolate twist. Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, called it “one of those fan-favorite treats people get excited to see return.”
She said pairing it with Taz adds “the perfect amount of Halloween mischief.”
What is Krispy Kreme’s Looney Tunes Halloween Collection?
It’s the bigger Halloween promotion the Taz dozen is part of. Krispy Kreme teamed up with Warner Bros. for its first-ever Looney Tunes doughnut collection, which launched Oct. 6.
The collection comes in a Halloween-themed box with four doughnuts: Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Sylvester, Taz and Lola Bunny.
Earlier this month, Krispy Kreme also sold a three-day Looney Tunes Lab Dozen for $13, with green Original Glazed doughnuts.
Can you get a free Krispy Kreme doughnut on Halloween?
Yes, if you dress up. Guests who wear a costume to a participating shop on Friday, Oct. 30, or Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, can get a free Original Glazed or Classic Ring doughnut, according to Krispy Kreme.
No purchase is needed. It’s an easy treat to add to a night of trick-or-treating.
Who is Taz from Looney Tunes?
Taz, short for the Tasmanian Devil, is the spinning, growling Looney Tunes character known for whirling around like a tornado. He first appeared in the cartoon Devil May Hare in 1954.
That tornado spin is exactly what inspired the swirl on top of Krispy Kreme’s new doughnut.
Where are Krispy Kreme shops?
All over. Krispy Kreme is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and operates in more than 40 countries, according to the company.
The Taz deal is only at participating U.S. shops, so check the Krispy Kreme app to see if your local shop is taking part.
What other Halloween doughnuts are out this year?
Plenty. Dunkin’‘s Halloween Munchkins bucket returned on Oct. 14, with a purple pail that glows in the dark this year, according to Haunted Attraction Network.
Between the Looney Tunes collection, the Taz dozen and free doughnuts for costumed guests, Krispy Kreme fans have a lot to choose from before Halloween.
