Lay’s is putting roasted turkey and scalloped potatoes in chip form. Plus, Tajin’s new chamoy, Ghirardelli snowmen, strawberry Pop-Tarts protein shakes and Trader Joe’s picks.
Thanksgiving dinner is coming to the chip aisle a month early.
Lay’s is launching two Thanksgiving-inspired flavors nationwide on Sunday, Oct. 25, Food Dive reported. A third arrives in November, and chocolate chips follow in December.
Here’s that lineup, plus seven more new things to eat and drink this week.
What are the Holi-Lay’s Thanksgiving chip flavors?
The PepsiCo brand calls the lineup Holi-Lay’s. It includes limited-time flavors inspired by Thanksgiving favorites, according to Food Dive.
Lay’s Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes, nationwide Oct. 25
Lay’s Roasted Holiday Turkey, nationwide Oct. 25

PepsiCo marketing executive Denise Truelove said the flavors are “inspired by courses on the holiday table.” Fans can “taste the joy of the holiday season before the table has been set,” she said.
Is Lay’s making chocolate chips?
It is. Lay’s Wavy Milk Chocolate and Lay’s Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate launch Dec. 1 at select retailers, Food Dive reported.
More stores will carry the chocolate versions in 2027. PepsiCo is pitching the whole holiday lineup as a snack or a hosting gift.
It cited RepData figures showing 78% of consumers consider food a great holiday gift. Lay’s also rolled out a 40-flavor collection during the FIFA World Cup, inspired by the competing nations.
What is Tajin Twist Chamoy?
It’s a new sweet and spicy sauce from the chile and lime seasoning brand, Food Dive reported. Chamoy is a Mexican sauce usually made from spices and fruit such as mango or apricot.
Tajin says you can drizzle it on candy, soft serve and other treats. Tajin USA director Javier Leyva suggested giving “your favorite gummies a sweet-and-spicy makeover.”
What are Ghirardelli’s Graham and Caramel Snowmen?
New limited-edition milk chocolate snowmen with graham and caramel flavors. A reader spotted them at World Market, The Impulsive Buy reported.
There’s a catch, though. The fine print on the bottom says, “Does not contain graham,” The Impulsive Buy noted.
Is there a strawberry Pop-Tarts protein shake?
Yes. Prime Shake Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry turned up at Sam’s Club, according to The Impulsive Buy.
It follows a Frosted Blueberry version that came out a few months ago. The Impulsive Buy wondered why strawberry didn’t come first, since Pop-Tarts products usually start with it.
What is Dot’s cinnamon sugar snack mix?
A limited-edition snack mix from Dot’s, the pretzel brand, also spotted at Sam’s Club, The Impulsive Buy reported. Its one-line verdict: “This should be a year-round thing.”
Is Monster Vanilla Shot any good?
It’s fine. Monster’s new Vanilla Shot adds vanilla flavor to the original Monster Energy, and there’s a zero-sugar version, too, according to The Impulsive Buy.
The reviewer said it tastes like regular Monster, “but toned down.” The vanilla mostly shows up in the aftertaste.
They rated it 5 out of 10, after paying 2 for $6.49 at a gas station. Each 15-ounce can has 160 milligrams of caffeine. The original has 220 calories and 53 grams of sugar, while the zero-sugar version has 10 calories.
What are Sporked’s favorite new Trader Joe’s finds?
Sporked’s weekly Trader Joe’s haul had two perfect scores.
Villa Italia Blood Orange Italian Soda, 10 out of 10. It comes in a 1-liter glass bottle, and it isn’t seasonal.
Midwest McIntosh Apples, 10 out of 10. Softer than Honeycrisps, but “wonderfully in season” and good value.
Hane Style Beef Gyoza, 8.5 out of 10. They’re new, and there’s “a pretty significant learning curve,” so follow the directions.
Uncured Turkey Corn Dogs, 8 out of 10. Bake or air-fry them for a crispier coating.
What else did Sporked love this week?
Three everyday buys made its list of the best things it tasted. Lifeway Raspberry Kefir tastes like “if you blended kefir with the fruit of choice,” Sporked’s Rachel Jones wrote. Sporked says you can swap kefir in for buttermilk or yogurt in recipes.
Sporked also liked Butcher’s Organic Chicken Bone Broth from Costco, which comes bottled and refrigerated.
And Trader Joe’s Sparkling Water, Lime is 99 cents for a 1-liter bottle. Sporked said it has gone through three or four bottles already.
