While Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are officially no more, the famous Tom Sawyer rafts and the Liberty Belle are still there, but now they are behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in a service canal.
Side note, I’m still salty about the Liberty Belle, but I digress.
bioreconstruct on Twitter (please give them a like and follow) posted some aerial photos showing the watercraft in the backstage area.
For now, the beloved boat and the rafts are still close by, but we don’t know what will happen to them yet. One rumor is that it will be dismantled in this location instead of moving to a dry dock.
I really hope that is not the case, but it isn’t a regular ship and I’m not sure Disney will want to spend the money to repurpose it as such.
Why is it being docked?
In case you haven’t heard, Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Belle, have been closed to make way for the new Cars-themed “Piston Peak National Park” area coming to the Magic Kingdom.
