Disney's red Life Day Wookiee Cookie stacks two oatmeal cookies around cassis eggnog buttercream. WDW News Today gave it a 4 out of 7, one point better than the regular Wookiee Cookie scored last year.
Chewbacca's favorite holiday finally has its own cookie. The Life Day Wookiee Cookie is now at Backlot Express in Disney's Hollywood Studios for $7.49, WDW News Today reported Saturday, Nov. 7.
It's a holiday remix of the park's classic Wookiee Cookie, which is basically a giant oatmeal cream pie. This one has two red oatmeal cookies, pink cassis eggnog buttercream and a chocolate coin stamped "Life Day." Cassis is black currant, in case you were wondering.
The price is $1.20 more than WDWNT paid for the regular Wookiee Cookie at Backlot Express in May 2025, when it cost $6.29.
We first mentioned the cookie in our Oct. 26 roundup of Disney World's holiday treats. Now it's on the menu board, with a price tag.
How long is the Life Day Wookiee Cookie available?
From Nov. 7 through Jan. 5, according to Disney's 2026 holiday foodie guide. Two spots sell it, and both take mobile orders:
Backlot Express: Echo Lake, next to Star Tours
Milk Stand: Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
They might not be identical twins. Disney's guide lists a white chocolate coin at Backlot Express and a "milk chocolate garnish" at the Milk Stand.
Life Day itself is Nov. 17, so the cookie sticks around for weeks after the actual holiday. Very Wookiee of it. They're not known for leaving early.
Is the Life Day Wookiee Cookie good?
WDWNT rated it 4 out of 7. Reviewers called it massive, "much like the furry species for which it's named," and said to share it.
The cookies were "very dry and chewy," with a faint raspberry flavor that probably came from buttercream clinging to the crumbs. The filling helps with the dryness, but it takes a few bites to get enough of it.
The buttercream tasted mostly like eggnog, with only a hint of fruit. The coin on top was bittersweet, which WDWNT called unusual for white chocolate.
WDWNT suggested pairing it with Pink Milk from the Milk Stand. If you don't like oatmeal cookies or eggnog, they said, stick with the regular Wookiee Cookie.
For comparison, WDWNT gave the regular version a 3 out of 7 in May 2025 and said its cookies tasted of plain oatmeal. So the holiday version is a step up. A small step, but Wookiees have long legs.
What is Life Day in Star Wars?
Life Day is a Wookiee holiday that first appeared in The Star Wars Holiday Special, which aired on CBS on Nov. 17, 1978. The story follows Chewbacca trying to get home to his family for the holiday.
George Lucas tried to bury the special, WDWNT noted. It became a cult favorite anyway, partly because it's where Boba Fett made his first appearance.
Life Day became official Star Wars canon when it got a shout-out in the first episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+. That's why fans celebrate it every Nov. 17, the special's original air date.
Where else can you celebrate Life Day at Disney parks?
A few places, though most of them cost extra:
Chewbacca in his Life Day robe: He meets guests in Galaxy's Edge during Disney Jollywood Nights, the separately ticketed party that opened Nov. 7 and runs on select nights through Jan. 5. Tickets cost $169 to $199. Chewie first wore the red robe at Hollywood Studios during the 2025 party, BlogMickey reported.
Life Day orb photo op: Jollywood Nights also has a PhotoPass backdrop with a glowing Life Day orb by the X-wing near Resistance Supply.
Disneyland: A limited-edition Life Day pin, an edition of 3,000 at $24.99, came out at Disneyland Resort on Nov. 3, according to WDWNT's November pin list.
So if you're spending a regular day at Hollywood Studios without a party ticket, the cookie is your Life Day celebration. It's the cheapest way to get into the spirit, too.
What other holiday treats are at Hollywood Studios?
Disney's foodie guide lists a few more daytime holiday snacks at the park, most running Nov. 7 through Jan. 5:
ABC Commissary: Linzer Cookie Mousse Torte
Rosie's All-American Cafe: Coquito Wreath Cupcake
The Trolley Car Cafe: Mickey Gingerbread Cookie
Woody's Lunch Box: Hot Cocoa Lunch Box Tart, through Jan. 31
Chewie waited 48 years for Life Day to go mainstream. You can probably handle a mobile order line.
