Last night the General Joe Potter ferry hit the dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center right after midnight, requiring an emergency call for “Mutual Aid” from various emergency agencies.
Reports seem to indicate that it was storming visibility was not good. From what we can determine it seemed the ferry was coming in too fast and hit something, causing it to stop suddenly and throw passengers around.
A Reddit post had an ongoing discussion on it about those involved in the accident and those who witnessed it.
“Very scary scene. Happened about 11:40pm during a heavy storm. Boat was approaching the TTC dock when the boat came to a sudden and complete stop, throwing every passenger forward.”

“I was on that ferry!!! It was insane. People thrown forward all around. No warning, just a loud crash and sudden stop approaching the dock. I think they hit the cement jetty.”
Another person commented,
“It was scary. We were right down the front and could see it heading toward the dock and it wasn’t getting any slower. Luckily we were able to brace for impact but then got crushed by a surge of people from behind. I accept that visibility wasn’t great, but if that’s the case, slow down! Girl by us was quite badly injured” -Silver_Profile_4108

“My sister in law was on the ferry also. Left with her face cut and bruised up pretty badly” -The3pidemic

“I was on this and standing on top of the stairs and watched like 50 people get flung and those metal trash cans slamming down on kids and pinning them into the ground. What crazy night. On top of it everyone being absolutely soaked from the rain made everything so much worse” - lt0217
“we were on it and 4 of 5 of us were injured. it was complete chaos and the staff had no clue how to handle it. we stayed to have our 3year olds checked for concussions. we were not seen and able to leave until almost 1am. even the EMT said it was chaos with no one in charge. very disappointed with Disney and how they handled this.” -PurchaseLess5562
Some guests were reportedly transferred to hospitals while others were treated on site.
