A guest jumped out of his log on the final lift hill at Magic Kingdom on Sept. 29, 2026, and the ride stopped for more than 20 minutes. It’s the latest in a string of exit attempts on Tiana’s rides.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has a 50-foot drop at the end. One rider at Disney World decided he didn’t want to find out how it felt.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, an adult guest climbed out of his ride vehicle while it was going up the final lift hill at Magic Kingdom, per WDW News Today and WDWInfo. The attraction stopped for more than 20 minutes, and a Cast Member walked the man off the ride.
Video of the moment was posted on Instagram by the account Band Mugs.
What happened on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom?
The guest got out of the log during the climb to the big drop, per WDW News Today.
That’s the slow, steep lift right before the finale. Riders are strapped in with lap bars on the Magic Kingdom version, per WDWInfo, so getting out takes real effort.
The ride stopped while Cast Members handled it. Nobody was reported hurt.
According to comments from the person who posted the video, the man appeared to be scared of the drop and left his child behind in the log, per WDWInfo. That detail comes from a social media comment and hasn’t been confirmed by Disney.
Did Disney say anything about the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure incident?
Not publicly.
Disney hasn’t announced any changes to the Magic Kingdom ride after the Sept. 29 incident, per WDWInfo.
It’s also not clear whether the guest faced any consequences.
Has this happened on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before?
Yes, and mostly at Disneyland.
On June 21, 2026, a 13-year-old climbed out near the final drop on Disneyland’s version of the ride and went down the water-covered drop, per WDWInfo. California safety inspectors checked the ride afterward and found no problems with how it operates, and Disneyland added stronger safety reminders.
WDW News Today also counted two more incidents at the Disneyland version this summer. In July, guests tried to get out before the final drop. In August, a family was removed after children were seen standing on the lift hill.
Why is Disneyland’s Tiana’s ride different from Disney World’s?
The restraints.
Magic Kingdom’s version has lap bars across each row, per WDWInfo. Disneyland’s version doesn’t have lap bars or seat belts, which is how the original Splash Mountain worked there too.
Climbing out at Magic Kingdom means getting past the lap bar first.
How big is the drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
About 50 feet, per WDWInfo and WDW News Today.
It’s the same drop from Splash Mountain, which the ride replaced. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Magic Kingdom in June 2024, with a new story based on The Princess and the Frog, new music and new animatronics. Disneyland’s version opened later that year.
Most people know the drop is coming. It’s on the posters, the ride vehicles get soaked, and you can see it from the queue.
What should you do if you get scared on a ride?
Stay in your seat.
Disney rides are designed to keep you safe inside the vehicle, not outside it. If you’re nervous about a drop, you can talk to a Cast Member before boarding. Disney’s rider swap lets one adult wait with kids while another rides, then they trade places.
And if a ride stops in the middle, Cast Members will come get you. Climbing out is how people get hurt, and it shuts the ride down for everybody else in line.
