Mark Ruffalo Returning as Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
According to The Hollywood Reporter Mark Ruffalo will be returning to the MCU as The Incredible Hulk for the next Spider-Man film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
His return has been long rumored but only recently was confirmed by the script ahead of production beginning this month.
This news comes after we got a reveal of Tom Holland in the new Spider-Man suit.
Ruffalo has been playing Bruce Banner / Hulk since 2012’s “Avengers” film.
More characters returning for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Besides Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, other actors / characters are returning for the new Spider-Man 4 film.
Jon Bernthal has been confirmed for his return as The Punisher. The Punisher appeared in both Daredevil and Spider-Man comics so this makes sense.
Also returning is Michael Mando, who played the Scorpion in the 2017 Spider-Man film “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film will release on July 31, 2026.
It’s interesting how much promotion this film is already getting a year out from release. Sony is in charge of this one so it could be their strategy as the MCU seems to be stalling out with audiences.
