McDonald’s five new holiday drinks, including a Red Bull Frosted Cranberry Energizer and three Cookie Butter coffees, arrive Nov. 3 at participating restaurants for a limited time.
McDonald’s is getting a jump on holiday drink season.
McDonald’s is launching five new holiday drinks on Tuesday, Nov. 3, according to Parade. The lineup includes two cranberry drinks and three Cookie Butter coffees.
They’ll be at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time, Dexerto reported.
What are the new McDonald’s holiday drinks?
Five drinks. Here’s the lineup, according to Parade and Dexerto:
Red Bull Frosted Cranberry Energizer
Frosted Cranberry Splash with Sprite
Cookie Butter Frappe
Cookie Butter Latte
Cookie Butter Iced Coffee
What is the McDonald’s Red Bull Frosted Cranberry Energizer?
A cranberry Red Bull drink topped with cold foam and sprinkles. It has 80 milligrams of caffeine, according to Parade.
You can choose classic Red Bull or Red Bull Zero, Dexerto reported. Because of the caffeine, it’s meant for older teens and adults, not young kids.
What is the Frosted Cranberry Splash?
A Sprite drink with orange and cranberry flavors, topped with cold foam and cranberry sprinkles, according to Parade.
It’s made with McDonald’s own recipe, not the store-bought Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite.
What are the McDonald’s Cookie Butter drinks?
Three coffee drinks with the same cookie butter flavor, topped with caramel cookie crumbs and sweet vanilla whip, according to Parade. You can get it as a blended Frappe, a Latte or an Iced Coffee.
What is cookie butter?
A sweet spread made from crushed spiced cookies, often Belgian speculoos. It tastes like caramel, brown sugar, and warm spices.
Brands like Biscoff and stores like Trader Joe’s helped make cookie butter a fan favorite, and it now shows up in coffee drinks, ice cream, and desserts.
How do the Cookie Butter drinks taste?
Tasting Table tried them early. The reviewer liked the hot Cookie Butter Latte best for its creamy, strong coffee taste, but said the cookie butter flavor was hard to pick out.
The Frappe had the strongest cookie butter taste, with caramelized brown sugar notes, though it felt “a little too one-note,” the reviewer said. The Iced Coffee had the least cookie butter flavor.
How much are the McDonald’s holiday drinks?
McDonald’s hasn’t announced prices, and they may vary by location. Tasting Table expects them to cost about the same as similar seasonal drinks already on the menu, which usually run a little more than a plain iced coffee.
How long will the holiday drinks be at McDonald’s?
For a limited time. McDonald’s hasn’t shared an end date.
Why is McDonald’s adding more drinks?
Drinks have become a big focus for McDonald’s. The chain recently added Red Bull to its menu and has rolled out new drinks after closing its CosMc’s test restaurants, according to Dexerto.
Fast-food chains are racing to grab customers who want fun, customizable drinks, like the ones at Starbucks, Dutch Bros and Swig.
What other McDonald’s items are out now?
The McRib is back at select restaurants, starting as early as Oct. 26 in some areas. McDonald’s Halloween Boo Buckets are also out this season, themed to Disney villains like Maleficent and Ursula.
