McDonald's caramel apple coffee drinks are popping up, but are they worth it?
McDonald’s is launching new Caramel Apple Pie-flavored coffee drinks starting on August 17. The flavor will be available as hot latte, iced latte, Frappé, and iced coffee beverages. Some locations have already soft-launched the drinks.
Starbucks removed apple from its drink menu this fall, but McDonald’s has swooped in with its own apple-flavored coffee beverage.
4 Caramel Apple Pie Offerings
There are four ways you can order this new flavor.
Hot Caramel Apple Pie Latte: Made with caramel apple pie syrup, espresso, and milk, finished with salted caramel whipped cream and an apple pie crumble topping.
Caramel Apple Pie Iced Latte: Features espresso, milk, and ice mixed with caramel apple pie syrup, topped with salted caramel whipped cream and pie crumble.
Caramel Apple Pie Iced Coffee: Features an iced coffee base, milk, caramel apple pie syrup, with salted caramel whipped cream and pie crumble.
Caramel Apple Pie Frappé: Caramel apple pie syrup blended into a classic creamy frappé base, with salted caramel whipped cream and pie crumble.
How does it taste?
Everyone will have different tastes when it comes to flavored beverages.
If you like the apple-flavored drinks from Starbucks, you will probably enjoy this one. For me, it tasted a bit like drinking potpourri mixed with coffee.
I think I will stick with the apple pie and not the apple pie flavoring used in these drinks.
Caramel Apple Pie coffee beverages officially launch on August 17, but you can check your app to see if your local McDonald’s is offering it early.
It might be your favorite flavor. For me, it’s a one-and-done.
