The free 2026 ornament puts Mickey at the wheel of a holiday train, and four of the six free treats are new this year. Disney's rain plan, though, says nothing about rain checks.
Disney revealed the free 2026 keepsake ornament for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on Wednesday, Nov. 4, along with the six free cookie stands, the photo ops and the bad-weather policy. The party opens Sunday, Nov. 8, at Magic Kingdom.
The cookie list is the sneaky news. By our count, four of the six free treats are new this year. The other two are back, but they moved to different stands.
The ornament shows Mickey driving a red and gold holiday train, with two elves stacking gifts in the back car, WDWMagic reported. A green "2026" tag sits on top, and a party banner runs across the bottom.
That year tag is a nice touch. The free Jollywood Nights ornament we wrote about Wednesday doesn't have a year on it. Last year's Very Merry ornament was Mickey and Pluto in a red truck hauling a Christmas tree, WDWNT reported at the time.
You get it at check-in, at the main entrance or, if you're already inside, near Tortuga Tavern, Mickey's PhilharMagic or Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Party guests can enter at 4 p.m.; the party runs 7 p.m. to midnight.
Where are the free cookies at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026?
Six stands, each with one free treat and an allergy-friendly backup, according to WDWNT and WDWMagic:
The Lunching Pad (Tomorrowland): Snickerdoodle Cookie, or a Ginger Cookie
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe (Tomorrowland): Buttercream Frosted Green Sprinkle Cutout Cookie, or Vanilla Mini Cookies
Gaston's Tavern (Fantasyland): Snowman-shaped Pretzel, or Pretzel Twists
Storybook Circus Train Station (Fantasyland): Cookie Dough Buttercream Frosted Cookie, or a Chocolate Chip Cookie
Tortuga Tavern (Adventureland): Buttercream Frosted Candy Cane Flavored Cookie, or Chocolate Mint Mini Cookies
Sunshine Tree Terrace (Adventureland): Hot Cocoa Cookie made with Dove chocolate, or a Double Chocolate Cookie
The allergy-friendly picks are free of egg, fish, milk, peanut, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, wheat and gluten, MickeyBlog said.
What changed from last year's free cookies?
Same six stands, mostly new cookies. In 2025, BlogMickey's taste test found Red Velvet, M&M's chocolate chip, caramel pretzel and frosted gingerbread cookies. All four are gone.
The Hot Cocoa Cookie moved from Tortuga Tavern to Sunshine Tree Terrace, a short walk away. The snowman pretzel moved from the Storybook Circus station to Gaston's. Still not a cookie. Still on the list.
Disney hasn't said which drinks go where. Last year brought apple cider, hot cocoa, fruit punch and eggnog, BlogMickey said. Disney's party page promises "hot and cold holiday sips" at no extra charge.
What happens if it rains at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?
The party goes on. "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will continue in the event of most inclement weather," Disney's guide says.
Some rides close during rain, thunder and lightning, so check the app's attractions map. Treat stands and shops stay open, and Disney suggests ducking into the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.
What the guide skips is rain checks and refunds. WDWMagic also pointed out it's much vaguer than the Jollywood Nights plan, which spelled out where outdoor shows and characters move.
The parade, fireworks and castle show are all subject to weather cancellation. There's precedent for a make-good, though. After a soggy Halloween party on Oct. 8, Disney turned those tickets into one-day Park Hopper tickets, BlogMickey reported. That was a one-night call, not a written rule.
What are the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 photo ops?
There are two new PhotoPass spots, both on Main Street, U.S.A.: Olaf Holiday and Holiday Mickey and Minnie. A new Shutterfly holiday photo card setup sits at the gazebo behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square.
Returning shots include Jack's Sleigh near The Plaza Restaurant, the Holiday Orange Bird, Holiday Zero near Haunted Mansion, a Stitch Gift Box and a Muppet Christmas Carol spot in Liberty Square.
Are Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets still available?
Barely. As of Nov. 2, only seven of 25 nights had tickets left, WDWNT reported: Nov. 29 and Dec. 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 17. Nov. 29, still on sale Nov. 3, is the last night with a $10 Annual Passholder and DVC discount.
Thanksgiving week sold out back in October, as we reported. The remaining nights ran $214 to $229 plus tax, with $10 off for kids 3 to 9.
Pack a poncho and an empty stomach. Six cookies, five hours, no rain checks promised.
