Pepperidge Farm’s newest Milano mixes espresso and chocolate in a limited holiday cookie, and nine seasonal favorites are coming back with it at the same $5.89 price.
Pepperidge Farm has a new Milano for the holidays, and the name alone is going to make some people do a double take in the cookie aisle.
Milano Espresso Martini is rolling out to stores nationwide starting in October, Parade reported. It costs $5.89, though prices can vary by store.
Before anyone asks, there’s no alcohol in it. It’s a cookie with an espresso and chocolate filling, Parade reported.
Pepperidge Farm teased the flavor on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 12, and a few fans guessed it in the comments before the big reveal the next day.
What does the Milano Espresso Martini cookie taste like?
Coffee first, then chocolate. Pepperidge Farm’s fact sheet promises “rich espresso notes and a decadent chocolate filling,” with a little vanilla to round it out, Parade reported.
Snack & Bakery describes it as two thin, crisp Milano cookies around a coffee-flavored filling with a chocolate center, plus a hint of vanilla.
Parade’s taster didn’t pick up much of that vanilla, though. So if vanilla is your thing, maybe don’t get your hopes up on that part.
Ama Auwarter is the vice president of Pepperidge Farm Cookies & Bakery at Campbell’s Snacks. She called it “an elevated, coffee-forward treat that feels both unexpected and familiar.”
Where can you buy Milano Espresso Martini cookies?
Most big grocery chains should have them. Parade and Snack & Bakery both name Walmart, Kroger and Albertsons as retailers.
It’s a limited-time flavor. Pepperidge Farm hasn’t posted an end date. If you spot a bag and you’re curious, it’s probably smart to grab it then instead of waiting until after Thanksgiving.
What other Pepperidge Farm holiday cookies are back in 2026?
Nine of them, according to Parade. Each one is also $5.89 and around for a limited time:
Milano Amaretto Hot Cocoa
Milano Slices Peppermint
Mint Brussels
Raspberry Linzer Holiday Pack
Gingerman
Milano Milk Chocolate Holiday Pack
Milano Double Dark Chocolate Holiday Pack
Milano Mint Holiday Pack
Chessmen Holiday Egg Nog
That’s a lot of mint. Three of the nine lean that way, which tracks for a December cookie tin.
Has Pepperidge Farm made coffee and cocoa Milanos before?
A few times. Parade’s rundown of Milanos built around a warm cup of something:
Amaretto Hot Cocoa in 2020
Hazelnut Hot Cocoa in 2022
London Fog, the Earl Grey tea latte flavor, in 2024
Chai in 2025
The company has been busy all year, too. Earlier in 2026 it put out three fruity Milano flavors, a trio of “cozy” Chessmen and an apple pie cookie, according to Parade.
How long has Pepperidge Farm made Milano cookies?
Since 1957. Margaret Rudkin founded Pepperidge Farm in 1937, baking bread for her son, who had allergies, according to The Campbell’s Company.
The Milano started as a fix. Pepperidge Farm’s open-faced Naples cookie from 1956 had a chocolate layer that melted in warm weather, so the bakers added a second cookie on top, Campbell’s says. That sandwich became the Milano.
Campbell’s bought Pepperidge Farm in 1961, and Rudkin became the first woman on Campbell’s board that same year.
Mint was the first flavored Milano, back in 1968. Campbell’s says there have been more than 20 flavors since, so Espresso Martini has a long line of cousins.
What are some fun facts about Milano cookies?
Campbell’s has a few good ones:
Pepperidge Farm launched its Distinctive Cookies assortments in 1955. Only the Milano, Bordeaux and Brussels from those early boxes are still sold today.
Milanos got a marketing spot on the final episode of Frasier, which aired May 13, 2004.
A Chocolate Chili Milano won an online flavor contest in 2015.
A production line added in 2021 at the bakery in Denver, Pennsylvania, more than doubled the number of cookies made per minute.
One upside for the curious: the new flavor and the returning holiday packs all carry the same $5.89 price, so trying the new bag won’t cost more than buying an old favorite.
