Monster High Universal Monsters dolls are far better in person!
My review of the new Dracula, The Mummy, and Frankenstein Monster High dolls.
The new Monster High Universal Monsters dolls have popped up on Walmart.com for about $44 recently. I was skeptical of the style and quality based on early images, but they are far nicer than I expected.
Mine are still in the box, so I can’t speak to the feel of the dolls and how well they hold up to play, but I can say they are far nicer than I gave them credit for.
My first thought was that they were ugly dolls, and I would pass on them. Instead, the FOMO took over, and I bought them.
I’m glad I did, because they are so much nicer than I initially thought.
Monster High Universal’s Frankenstein Doll
Like Frankie Stein, this doll is based on Frankenstein’s Monster from the Universal films.
I had the least hope for this doll, and she is much better than I expected. Photos really do not do her justice.
Her outfit appears weak, but it really slays in person. The windmill purse seals the deal.
The back of the box reads:
“Frankenstein is ghoulish imagination brought to terrifying life! The creature walks in heeled boots, it embodies creepily chic style… what is it, human or monster? Whatever the case, it must be stopped before it wreaks havoc! Those who cannot stand spice-chilling excitement or shock should not hear this story…on the contrary, those who like an unusual thrill will find it in Frankenstein”

Monster High Universal’s Dracula Doll
This doll is stunning! First of all, her eyes are glittery and sparkling red. It isn’t tacky like I worried it might be, but instead it just makes her more beautiful.
The textures and colors on her outfit work very well together. I love the red thread used against the black satin.
Her box reads:
“In the dark depths of a spooky castle lurks a mysterious count named…Dracula! A horror legend with a piercingly hypnotic gaze and shadowy cape, Dracula stands out as an icon of sinister style. Sleeping in a coffin by day and hunting for prey by night, the story of this vampire will chill and thrill anyone brave enough to listen…”
She is fangtastic. Dracula is the inspiration behind Draculaura.
Monster High Universal’s Mummy Doll
This doll was the one I thought I would like the most, and it turned out to be the opposite. But I still really like her. I just wish her eyes were a bit smaller as they are off-putting in person. But not a deal breaker by any means!
I do wish all three dolls had the sparkle eyes, but the costume the Mummy doll is great!
The bone barrette, sarcophagus purse, and scarab ring sell it.
The back of the box reads,

Don’t sleep on these dolls, especially if you love the Universal Monsters.
My daughter is going to flip over these.
