Universal built Ozzy Osbourne a haunted house, and the Osbournes are delighted about it.
Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness opened at Universal Orlando Resort on August 28 as part of Halloween Horror Nights 35. It reaches Universal Studios Hollywood on September 3.
Universal describes it as a living horror movie, spanning 45 years of Osbourne’s solo career.

The Hollywood version begins in Birmingham, England, where John Michael Osbourne was born, then travels forward through his early childhood into the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by Diary of a Madman.
Different versions of Osbourne appear as the decades pass. Madman Ozzy, Werewolf Ozzy, and the Prince of Darkness himself.
The soundtrack pulls from six solo albums: The Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream, and Ordinary Man. Universal says the house includes hits alongside deeper cuts.
Orlando and Hollywood are running different versions rather than a duplicate build.

“You actually see Ozzy, as a full bat, bite the head off a human,” said Lora Sauls, assistant director of entertainment creative development and show direction at Universal Orlando, ahead of the house’s debut..
What Sharon and Jack Osbourne said
The house exists because the family wanted it to.
Osbourne died in July 2025 at 76. His son Jack had attended Halloween Horror Nights in California, and Universal officials have said he was instrumental in making the mazes happen.
Sharon and Jack issued a joint statement.
“Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created,” they said. “Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life.”
They described the houses as a wonderful tribute and said they hoped fans have as much fun with it as he would have had watching it come together.
John Murdy, executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, said Osbourne did not just help define heavy metal but created a cultural phenomenon influencing generations of music, art, and horror.
Universal has done Ozzy before
There is precedent, and it was on the other end of his career.
Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood staged Black Sabbath: 13-3D in 2013, built around the band’s 13 album and its imagery.
That house covered the band. This one covers the solo career, which is roughly the other half of his life’s work.

Ozzy was the tenth and final house revealed for Orlando, which means the lineup is now locked.
The other nine: Stranger Things 5, Evil Dead Burn, Sinners, Hellraiser, Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control, Cybergoria, Madlands: Caged Cannibals, Invasion: Alien Abduction, and H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular.
Beyond the houses, there is a Stranger Things retrospective lagoon show, a new Nightmare Fuel stage show, and multiple scare zones including one called Downtown Clowntown and another named Sideshow of Decay that ties back to past events.
The event runs 49 select nights through November 1 in Orlando. Hollywood runs through November 1 as well.

Limited-release items went on sale alongside the announcement.
The collection includes a T-shirt and an Ozzy acrylic figure that can be added to the separately sold Infernal Carnival collectible display.

Should you go
Halloween Horror Nights is built for older teens and adults. Universal does not recommend the event for children under 13, and adult guests cannot wear costumes.
The Ozzy house is a memorial rather than a cheap tie-in, built with family involvement and running two distinct versions across two coasts. For anyone who grew up with the music, that is a different proposition than a licensed horror maze.
The announcement trailer closed with Osbourne’s own voice. “Let the madness begin.”
