People Waited Up To 5 Hours To See Patriotic Disney Characters
Yesterday was Independence Day in America. To celebrate, Walt Disney World offered a special meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, or Chip and Dale, dressed in their patriotic “Spirit of ‘76” attire.
The characters could be found in front of the American Adventure in the World Showcase. (Because where else would they be?)
Guests waited in line up to 5 hours to get their photos taken with the colonial-attired characters.
Magic Next Door on X posted some videos of the line.
All Ears claimed it was “up to” a five-hour wait!
“We went to do our yearly tradition of meeting Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy in their patriotic outfits just for the Fourth of July at EPCOT, but it ended up being a five-hour wait!”
It was so bad that they said Cast Members told them they shut down the line earlier in the day when it reached a five-hour wait time.
Later, they reopened the line.
“We got to talking with a Cast Member who said that they had to shut down the line in the morning because it reached five hours long! We had caught Mickey just after he reopened the line, so it was perfect timing.“
Keeping them in these costumes for the American Adventure meet-and-greet and offering it once a day would make a lot of sense given the demand. At least for 2026.
I love seeing them in these costumes, but I would not wait up to five hours to do so. Even an hour seems too long to me.
