Starbucks Japan’s Pokémon collab starts Sept. 30, 2026, with a Pikachu Honey Cream Latte for 678 yen and 41 pieces of merch. It’s Japan-only, and no U.S. release has been announced.
Pikachu is getting a Starbucks drink. You’ll just need a plane ticket to Tokyo to get one.
Starbucks Japan and The Pokémon Company kick off a collaboration on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The main event is a Pikachu Honey Cream Latte. There is also a 41-piece merchandise drop, drawn by illustrator Hikaru Ichijo.
It’s a Japan-only release. Nothing has been announced for Starbucks stores in the U.S.
What is the Pikachu Honey Cream Latte?
It’s espresso with caramel and honey, which gives the drink a bright yellow color to match Pikachu. On top is honey-flavored whipped cream with little heart-shaped decorations, a nod to Pikachu’s red cheeks.
The recipe came from a Starbucks Japan barista. Per SoraNews24, it won an internal competition with more than 700 entries.
It comes in one size, Tall. Every drink comes with a collaboration sticker while supplies last.
How much is the Pokemon Starbucks drink?
The latte costs 678 yen to go and 690 yen if you drink it in the store, so about $4.28 to go and $4.36 to stay.
It won’t be around long. The drink is on the menu for nine days only, Sept. 30 to Oct. 8.
What Pokemon merch is in the Starbucks Japan collection?
There are 41 items, all using Ichijo’s new artwork. The art shows Pokemon and baristas together in 12 scenes built around coffee.
Some of the prices, with rough dollar amounts at today’s exchange rate:
A 473-milliliter reusable cup (about 16 ounces) for 1,300 yen, about $8.21
Stainless steel bottles in six designs for 6,600 yen, about $41.67
Tote bags for 5,000 yen, about $31.57
Cup-shaped clear pouches in five character designs for 2,200 yen, about $13.89
An art sticker set for 1,800 yen, about $11.36
Starbucks cards, starting with a 2,000 yen balance
Time Out Tokyo lists mugs, aprons, keychains and postcards in the lineup too.
Can you buy the Starbucks Pokemon merch online?
Yes, through Starbucks Japan’s online store, starting at 6 a.m. Japan time on Sept. 30. That’s 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, Sept. 29, for anyone in the U.S. planning to stay up for it.
There are limits. Per SoraNews24, online orders are capped at one per transaction on launch day. In stores, the cap is one per transaction from Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.
Starbucks Japan’s store is built for customers in Japan. Fans outside the country usually go through a proxy shopping service for drops like this, and the fees add up fast.
Is the Pokemon Starbucks collab coming to the U.S.?
It’s Japan only for now. Every announcement so far is from Starbucks Japan, and none of it mentions other countries.
Starbucks Japan runs plenty of its own seasonal drinks and tie-ins that never cross the Pacific. That could change for Pikachu. It just hasn’t yet.
Why is this collab a big deal for Pokemon fans?
Mostly because it’s Pikachu on a cup.
The art helps, too. This set has its own illustrator and 12 original scenes of Pokemon hanging out with baristas, so the goods aren’t just a logo on a tumbler.
The bottles and totes will probably end up on resale sites. The latte is the one piece of this collab nobody can flip. You have to be there to drink it.
