Red Velvet’s Russian Roulette video just passed 300 million YouTube views, 10 years after release. Plus a baby on the way, Doctor X’s best ratings yet and Signal 2 news.
Red Velvet’s “Russian Roulette” music video just passed 300 million YouTube views, more than 10 years after it came out.
The video crossed the mark not long after 6 a.m. Korea time on Sunday, Oct. 25, Soompi reported. That was late Saturday afternoon on the East Coast.
It’s the group’s third music video to reach 300 million. “Bad Boy” got there first, and “Psycho” got there fastest, according to Soompi.
“Russian Roulette” came out Sept. 7, 2016, Korea time. That’s 3,700 days ago.
Do the math and it works out to about 81,000 views a day, every day, for a decade. Not bad for a song that was already old news when “Psycho” came out in 2019.
You can watch the “Russian Roulette” music video on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel.
Here’s the rest of this weekend’s K-pop and K-drama news.
Are Kim Ga Eun and Yoon Sun Woo having a baby?
Yes. The actors announced on Instagram on Oct. 24 that they’re expecting their first child, Soompi reported.
The post included photos of a pregnancy test and a sonogram.
“A baby angel has found its way to us,” Kim wrote. The couple hasn’t shared a due date yet.
The two first met as co-stars on the 2014 drama Abiding Love Dandelion. They dated for 10 years before getting married in October 2025.
How high are Doctor X’s ratings?
Higher than ever. SBS’s medical drama Doctor X, starring Kim Ji Won, hit 19.5 percent nationwide on Oct. 24, according to Nielsen Korea, Soompi reported.
That’s up from 17.5 percent for Friday’s episode, which we reported overnight. It also made Doctor X the most-watched show of any kind that week.
It also ties The Penthouse 3 for the fifth-best rating ever for an SBS Friday-Saturday drama. Only The Penthouse 2, Agent Kim Reactivated, The Fiery Priest and Taxi Driver 2 have done better.
I do recommend Doctor X; it's really good.
Elsewhere in the weekend ratings:
tvN’s 100 Days of Deception hit 6.5 percent for episode 5, the top cable show of the day.
KBS 2TV’s Love on the Menu won its time slot with 15.2 percent.
JTBC’s new drama Final Table started with 1.9 percent.
When does Signal 2 premiere?
That’s still up in the air. Korean outlet MyDaily reported Sunday that The Second Signal will premiere Dec. 7, with its first two episodes airing together, Soompi reported.
According to that report, the show had been set for Nov. 30 and was pushed back a week.
tvN wouldn’t confirm it. The network said nothing has been decided yet about the show’s schedule.
The original Signal aired on tvN in 2016. Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo and Cho Jin Woong starred as detectives linked across time by an old walkie-talkie.
Kim Eun Hee wrote it.
The sequel was supposed to air in June for the channel’s 20th anniversary. It was put on hold after reports about Cho’s past came out in December 2025, and he announced his retirement.
The production team has decided to air his scenes without editing him out, Soompi reported.
What did WAKEONE say about Geonwoo’s lawsuit?
A lot more than it said at first. Geonwoo of ALPHA DRIVE ONE has sued his agency, WAKEONE, asking a court to rule on whether his exclusive contract is valid, Soompi reported.
WAKEONE first said it couldn’t say much while the case is ongoing. Later Sunday, it put out a longer statement apologizing to fans for the worry.
The agency said disagreements over Geonwoo’s future plans, including a planned schedule and content, led to the lawsuit. It asked fans not to spread unverified information.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE will keep going as a seven-member group, WAKEONE said. Geonwoo has been on hiatus since April.
The group came out of Mnet’s survival show BOYS II PLANET and debuted in January. WAKEONE is also home to ZEROBASEONE, whose unit EMP drops its first digital single, “RUN,” on Nov. 4.
That’s plenty for one Sunday. And somewhere, a 2016 music video is still racking up views on repeat.
