Remy, Emile and their friends now prep for a grand feast in the queue at EPCOT’s Ratatouille ride. It’s part of the props and lighting Disney promised when the ride switched from 3D to 2D.
Waiting in line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure just got a little more fun.
A new scene in the ride’s queue at EPCOT shows Remy, Emile and their friends preparing for a grand feast, Disney fan DrewDisneyDude shared on X on Thursday, Oct. 15. KennythePirate reported the change on Friday.
“Guests can now spot Remy, Emile, and their friends preparing for the grand feast while waiting in the queue,” DrewDisneyDude wrote. “Silent attraction improvements are the best.”
The rats can be spotted scurrying around in the scene, which helps guests feel like they’re shrinking down to rat size before they board, KennythePirate said.
Here’s a full ride-through with the new props, from Attractions Plus, filmed in September:
What changed at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure?
The queue scene is the newest piece. Last month, EPCOT guests also noticed new set pieces aboard the ride itself, KennythePirate reported.
Disney didn’t announce either one. Both just showed up.
Fans had been waiting a while. KennythePirate admitted its staff had “not been so patiently waiting for Disney Imagineers to deliver on the new props.”
Why did Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure switch to 2D?
Fans had complained for years that the 3D was too blurry and that it made some guests motion sick, according to KennythePirate.
Disney closed the EPCOT ride in November 2025 to switch it to 2D. At the time, Disney promised it would “return with enhanced digital visuals and clearer imagery projected in 2D.”
It also made a second promise. “Remy’s fans will spot new props and lighting enhancements when they are added to the queue and attraction over the next few months,” Disney said, as KennythePirate quoted it.
The ride has been running in 2D since it came back. The new props are Disney keeping the second half of that promise.
Did the Paris version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure change too?
Yes, it went first. The original ride at Disneyland Paris closed in October 2025 for its own 2D update, with new props and queue changes, KennythePirate reported at the time. It was set to reopen in spring 2026.
The Paris version opened on July 10, 2014, in its own Ratatouille-themed square at Walt Disney Studios Park, La Place de Remy. EPCOT got its copy in 2021, when it opened in the France pavilion, according to KennythePirate.
The EPCOT ride opened on Oct. 1, 2021, the first day of Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. It came with a bigger France pavilion, including a new crepe spot nearby.
What is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure like?
It’s a trackless dark ride based on Pixar’s 2007 movie Ratatouille, which won the Oscar for best animated feature. Guests ride in rat-shaped vehicles through Gusteau’s restaurant, shrunk down to Remy’s size, while he tries to cook and stay out of trouble.
It’s one of the most popular rides at EPCOT. Disney has tried a virtual queue for it, then later added a single rider line, KennythePirate noted.
Where is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT?
In the France pavilion in World Showcase, behind the main Paris street area. The queue snakes through a Parisian rooftop setting before you go inside.
So the new rat scene is the last thing you’ll see before you shrink down.
Will Disney add more to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure?
Maybe. Disney said props and lighting would be added “over the next few months,” and that was last November. KennythePirate said it will be interesting to see whether other new touches show up.
DrewDisneyDude’s post picked up about 800 likes on X, so fans are paying attention.
The 2D switch was a big deal for guests who skipped the ride because of the 3D glasses or motion sickness. Clearer screens make the whole thing easier to follow, especially for little kids.
Is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure worth riding now?
Fans who skipped it over the 3D glasses have a reason to go back. The 2D picture is clearer, and the queue keeps getting more to look at.
Next time you’re stuck in that line, look for the rats getting ready to eat. You’ll be one of them in a few minutes.
