Disney has announced a new holiday offering at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting in November. Since the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster attraction has been redone with the muppets, the holiday overlay is called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay.
Electric Mayhem is going holidays from November 4 through January 6 at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
The limited-time overlay is called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay.
Disney says it’s “turning their already legendary concert into a festive celebration filled with seasonal tunes and new surprises.”
What is being added
The festivities start when you enter the attraction’s courtyard. From there, you will begin to hear holiday music playing.
Once you enter the G-Force Records building where the group is rehearsing, you will see the characters finishing up their holiday set list while other Muppets stop by.
You won’t miss their set because, as you blast off to the event, holiday songs by The Electric Mayhem will play throughout the ride.
It’s the same attraction, but now with holiday theming and music.
Why are the Muppets at the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster attraction now?
The Muppets took over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on May 26, 2026.
Disney moved them to the coaster after shuttering the MuppetVision 3D show and the Muppet Courtyard area.
It was long rumored that Disney wanted a replacement for Aerosmith after they had been there for 26 years.
Let’s be honest, the show’s video no longer matched the faces of the rock stars after almost three decades.
Disney used the opportunity to replace Aerosmith and keep The Muppets in play at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
I’m just happy we get to have another holiday offering that isn’t paywalled by the special ticket Jollywood Nights, like they did to the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! show.
