Melia Shanghai Parkside, a short walk from the park, is the first hotel in Shanghai Disney Resort's new partner program. Its room-and-ticket bundles start with stays on Nov. 16.
Shanghai Disney Resort has a new way to put guests near the castle without building another hotel. The resort launched an Official Partner Hotel Program, and the first member is Melia Shanghai Parkside.
The hotel sits inside Shanghai International Resort, the larger tourism zone around the park, and it's a short walk from Shanghai Disney Resort.
Guests can book a bundle that includes a room, a Shanghai Disneyland one-day dated ticket and an Early Park Entry Pass, for stays starting Nov. 16, 2026.
If you've never seen Shanghai Disneyland, here's a look at what's waiting next door:
What is the Shanghai Disney Resort Official Partner Hotel Program?
It's a list of hotels outside the resort that Disney officially works with. Think of it like the partner hotels near Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort, which sell park tickets and perks to their guests without being Disney-run.
Shanghai Disney Resort says more hotels will join the program over time. For now, Melia Shanghai Parkside is the only one.
The hotel was announced at an unveiling ceremony with representatives from Shanghai International Resort, Shendi Group, Shanghai Disney Resort and Melia Hotels & Resorts.
How do you book the Melia Shanghai Parkside Disney package?
Through the hotel. The room-and-ticket bundle is sold on Melia Shanghai Parkside's official website, its WeChat mini program and its offline channels.
Once you check in, the hotel can also sell other ticket types, including Shanghai Disneyland's Afternoon Ticket with Combo Coupon Package.
Early Park Entry is the big perk here. Getting into the park before the general crowd is the best way to knock out popular rides like TRON Lightcycle Power Run and Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure before the lines build.
What other hotels are at Shanghai Disney Resort?
Two Disney-run hotels are open now: Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel.
A third is on the way. Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, a nine-story deluxe hotel on Wishing Star Lake, opens Dec. 16, 2026, with 400 rooms and suites and views of Shanghai Disneyland. Reservations open at midnight Shanghai time on Nov. 6, which is 11 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Its look borrows from Shanghai's early 20th-century architecture and Art Nouveau. The resort's tagline for it is "Where wishes meet a magical stay."
How do you get to Shanghai Disneyland?
Most visitors take the Shanghai Metro. Line 11 ends at Disney Resort Station, right by the park, so you can ride straight from the city without a taxi.
That's part of what makes a partner hotel appealing. Staying in the resort area means no long ride in the morning, which matters when you're trying to use an early entry pass. A short walk beats a metro transfer at 7 a.m.
What's new at Shanghai Disneyland?
Shanghai Disneyland opened in June 2016, so the park turns 10 this year, and the resort has been celebrating with a new logo and events all year.
There's been less happy news, too. Reports in October said plans for a second Shanghai Disney park may be on hold amid Imagineering layoffs.
Is Shanghai Disneyland worth visiting?
If you're a Disney park collector, yes. It has the biggest castle in any Disney park, Enchanted Storybook Castle, and rides you can't find anywhere else, including its own version of Pirates of the Caribbean built around a battle for sunken treasure.
Its TRON coaster opened there first, years before the version at Magic Kingdom. Now there's one more place to stay nearby, too.
