Shanghai Disney Resort's Disney Winter Frostival runs Nov. 19 to Feb. 20, about three weeks shorter than last season. The headliner is a new castle show starring Olaf and Anna.
Shanghai Disneyland's winter festival is coming back with a new Olaf show, wagyu cheeseburger spring rolls and a shorter run than last year.
Disney Winter Frostival runs Nov. 19, 2026, to Feb. 20, 2027, Shanghai Disney Resort announced in a press release dated Nov. 4. That's 94 days. Last season ran Nov. 7, 2025, to March 3, 2026, or 117 days, so this one is 23 days shorter by our count.
The big new thing is a castle show called Star Squad: Join Olaf for a Cozy Celebration. Olaf and Anna team up with the Shanghai Disneyland Band and the Star Squad in the castle viewing area. Guests are invited to sing and dance along.
The show ties into the resort's 10th anniversary slogan, "With You, It's Magic+." Shanghai Disneyland opened June 16, 2016. Showtimes and run time haven't been announced.
When is Disney Winter Frostival at Shanghai Disneyland?
The festival has a few seasons inside it:
Nov. 19 to Feb. 20: Disney Winter Frostival
Dec. 1 to Jan. 3: Mickey and friends wear new ski-themed holiday outfits
Dec. 31 and Jan. 1: New Year outfits and the "Ignite the New Year" castle celebration
Lunar New Year lands Feb. 6, 2027, inside the window. Shanghai Disney hasn't announced anything for it yet.
What shows are returning for Winter Frostival?
Most of the lineup is back from last season, when the Disney Parks Blog listed the same parade and shows:
Disney Winter Magic Cavalcade: a parade of winter floats and characters
Mickey's Snow Magic: turns Mickey Avenue into a snow globe, with flurries overhead
A Celebration of Disney Winter Frostival: a nighttime projection, light and sound show on Enchanted Storybook Castle
Mickey's Magical Tree Lighting Ceremony: Mickey, Minnie, Duffy and LinaBell light the resort's tallest Christmas tree in the Gardens of Imagination, with a live band
Holiday sets called Light Up the Holidays with Magic, Christmas Swing and the Mickey Avenue Carolers fill in the gaps.
Snow statues and ice sculptures of Disney characters line Mickey Avenue and the Gardens of Imagination. Zootopia gets its own snow statues, too.
Which characters get new holiday outfits?
A bunch of them. The resort says these are new this year:
Mickey and friends: ski-themed holiday looks, Dec. 1 to Jan. 3
Duffy and Friends: all-new Christmas outfits
Santa Goofy is back granting wishes on Mickey Avenue. Princesses and princes meet guests at Castle Encounters, sometimes in their winter parade outfits.
What food is new at Shanghai Disney Resort this winter?
The release doesn't list prices, but it does name a few new items:
Wagyu Cheeseburger Spring Rolls: a new seasonal snack
Mickey-shaped Youdunzi: a Mickey version of the fried radish fritter Shanghai is known for, breakfast only
Duck Leg in Turnip Sour Soup: back by popular demand
New set menus: festive seafood and meat menus at Royal Banquet Hall and Aurora
Hot chocolate, milk tea, holiday cookies, muffins, cotton candy and Mickey and Pals tanghulu, which are candied fruit skewers, round out the snacks. Both resort hotels add themed dinner buffets.
Cheeseburger spring rolls. Somebody at Disney World should be taking notes.
What holiday merchandise is at Shanghai Disneyland?
Two new collections lead the way:
2026 Mickey and Friends Ski Party Collection: accessories, sweaters, tumblers and home decor
2026 Duffy and Friends Christmas Wishes Collection: mini-sweater earphone cases, chapka hats and jackets
There are also winter collections for Stitch and Angel, Winnie the Pooh and friends, and Zootopia.
Are there Winter Frostival ticket deals?
Two of them:
One-day dated ticket: comes with a free RMB 88 combo dinner coupon, roughly $12, at select quick-service spots. Valid for visits through Jan. 3.
Winter Frostival package: one night at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or Toy Story Hotel, buffets, two dated park tickets, food coupons and Premier Access for the Cavalcade parade, all for two adults.
What's happening at Disneytown?
Disneytown, the resort's shopping and dining district, gets a Christmas Tree Trail leading to its big tree, decorated with 10th birthday ornaments this year. The Disneytown Christmas Market has Santa's cabin, crafts and food booths, and kids can visit Santa on weekends and holidays.
The resort says the holiday decor is all new this year, from the park to both hotels and Disneytown.
