Nearly every theme park raises pass prices every year. Branson’s went the other way, and dropped to its lowest price since 2021 right before a new coaster opens.
Silver Dollar City announced Saturday that its 2027 Silver Season Passport will cost $119.99 if you buy it by Nov. 2.
Last year the same pass ran about $139.99 during the same promotional window.
A theme park cutting its season pass price by 20 bucks is odd on its own. Doing it the year you are opening a new roller coaster is the part that grabs customers’ attention.
How much cheaper is the Silver Dollar City season pass?
About $20 less than the 2026 version, which local reporting in Branson puts at the lowest season pass price the park has charged since 2021.
For scale, the pass now costs only a little more than a single-day ticket. Anyone planning a two-day Branson trip is arguably losing money by not buying the pass instead.
The $119.99 rate is a promotional price with a deadline. It runs through Nov. 2, and the park has not said what the pass costs after that.
What new ride is opening at Silver Dollar City in 2027?
Miner’s Mountain Express, a family coaster from German manufacturer Mack Rides, is opening in spring 2027. The park describes it as the Midwest’s longest family coaster.
Family coasters are the category parks fight hardest over, because they are the rides a group with an 8-year-old can all ride together. Most parks charge more the year one opens. Silver Dollar City is charging less.
The park also has a new country music and food festival coming, more live music across the season, and an Old Time Christmas display going up to 7 million lights for 2027.
Why would a theme park lower its prices?
Nobody at the park has answered.
What can be said is that regional parks have spent 2026 under a lot of pressure. Attendance across the Orlando market softened this summer. Comcast told investors that Universal Orlando’s numbers slipped in June and kept sliding into the third quarter. Season passes are how regional parks lock in a visit before a family decides to skip the year entirely, and a pass sold in September is revenue banked long before spring.
A cheap pass also does something a discounted day ticket does not. It brings the same family back four or five times, and those families buy funnel cakes, hats, and Christmas lights tickets on every trip.
Is Silver Dollar City worth a season pass?
The park runs long operating seasons built around festivals rather than a single summer peak. Harvest Festival is open now. Old Time Christmas follows in November and runs through the holidays, and it is the event the park is best known for nationally, with the light count going up again next year.
For a family within driving distance, two visits pay for the pass. For anyone flying in, the math never works no matter what the pass costs.
Silver Dollar City has been owned by Herschend Family Entertainment since it opened in 1960, and it remains one of the larger privately held park operators in the country, alongside Dollywood, which Herschend also operates. Dollywood took four Golden Ticket Awards earlier this month, more than any park in the world.
Pass prices at the big chains go the other direction almost every fall. Disney, Universal and the former Six Flags parks have all raised annual pass prices at least once in the last two years.
The $119.99 rate ends Nov. 2.
