After skipping last year, the New Jersey park’s Christmas event comes back Nov. 21 with a 65-foot tree, a Jersey Shore holiday land, s’mores with Santa’s helpers and a silent disco.
Holiday in the Park is coming back to Six Flags Great Adventure, and it looks a lot different.
The New Jersey park’s Christmas event returns Saturday, Nov. 21, with four new themed lands, Attractions Magazine reported. Season Passholders get an early look at a preview on Friday, Nov. 20.
It’s a comeback year. Holiday in the Park was canceled last year as part of a bigger rethink of Six Flags’ holiday plans, according to Attractions Magazine.
Six Flags calls the new version a “living holiday storybook,” according to Attractions Magazine. Past versions were more loosely themed, and this one aims to tie millions of lights, shows and rides together.
Here’s what the old version looked like in 2024, from The Coaster Spot:
What are the 4 new lands at Holiday in the Park?
Six Flags has named all four, per Attractions Magazine:
Glittering Gateway: the front door, with illuminated trees, oversized decorations and a 65-foot Christmas tree.
Santa’s Arctic North Pole: a winter wonderland where you can meet Santa and make s’mores with his helpers.
Coastal Christmas: a Jersey Shore holiday on the recently redone Shoreline Pier, with sparkling palm trees.
Sweet Street: a candy-inspired land with the Sweet Tooth Stage Silent Disco.
Glittering Gateway’s big tree gets its own show. A Tree Lighting Spectacular happens every night, along with the Glistening Snow Show, which mixes music, lights and falling snow.
What shows are at Holiday in the Park?
There’s a new production, Holiday Road: LIVE on Tour!, at Showcase Theater.
Here’s what else is on the list, according to Attractions Magazine:
The Elf Craze Mirror Maze, a holiday take on a mirror maze.
Carolers and live musicians around the park.
Holiday characters for meet-and-greets and photos.
Fire pits and cozy spots to warm up.
There’s also seasonal food and drinks. Six Flags hasn’t released a full menu yet.
Can you ride roller coasters at Holiday in the Park?
Yes. Many thrill rides and family rides will stay open during the event, Attractions Magazine said. You can ride coasters during the day and after dark.
Six Flags says the schedule is built to make the most of the warmer daytime hours for rides. Then the lights and shows take over at night.
What did Six Flags say about the new Holiday in the Park?
John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags, said the company listened to guests.
“We heard our guests loud and clear,” Reilly said.
“Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties,” he said. He called it “a more intentional, more magical holiday celebration,” too.
Creative director Logan Wince is leading the new look, Attractions Magazine said.
Is Holiday in the Park included with a Six Flags pass?
For a lot of guests, yes. Admission is included with a Gold Season Pass and active Memberships, according to Six Flags.
Some other guests may qualify, too. That includes people who bought during the 2025 MVP Sale, All-Park Add-On holders, Prestige Passholders and Gold Passholders at select East Coast Six Flags parks, the park says.
If you don’t have a pass, check Six Flags’ website for daily tickets and dates. The park is in Jackson, New Jersey.
Is Holiday in the Park coming to other Six Flags parks?
Yes. Six Flags Over Georgia is rolling out its own reimagined Holiday in the Park at the same time, with new lands of its own, Attractions Magazine reported.
The Georgia park’s event runs on select days from Nov. 21 to Jan. 3, 2027, according to Six Flags. Attractions Magazine described the makeover as part of a multi-year plan that will keep growing.
It’s been a big fall for Great Adventure. Earlier this week, the park donated $80,000 in tickets to kids through Tickets for Kids, as PNP reported. Now it has a holiday to get ready for.
