Sonic’s new holiday menu brings a Santa Slush Float, a Smoked Gouda and Bacon Smasher and two festive drinks. They’re in the Sonic app now and nationwide Nov. 2.
Sonic is getting into the holiday spirit early.
Sonic has launched its holiday menu, led by the new Santa Slush Float and Smoked Gouda and Bacon Sonic Smasher, according to a Sonic press release.
The items arrived in the Sonic app on Monday, Oct. 26, and roll out nationwide on Monday, Nov. 2.
What is the Sonic Santa Slush Float?
A festive dessert drink. The Santa Slush Float layers a cherry and vanilla Slush with vanilla soft serve and tops it with a cherry, according to Sonic.
It comes in a Santa-themed cup and is available for a limited time, while supplies last.
Jenna Rankin, vice president of product category management and culinary at Sonic, said the float “is meant to bring a little more magic to the season,” according to Southern Living.
What is the Smoked Gouda and Bacon Sonic Smasher?
A smashburger made with hand-smashed Angus beef patties, smoked gouda, crispy bacon and black pepper aioli, according to Sonic.
You can order it as a double or triple, depending on how hungry you are. Like other Smashers, the patties are pressed thin on the grill for crispy edges.
What holiday drinks does Sonic have?
Two new festive sodas, according to Sonic:
Merry Berry Fizz: Sprite or Sprite Zero with cranberry syrup
Holiday Creamy Vanilla: Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola Zero with vanilla syrup and sweet cream
How much is the Sonic holiday menu?
Sonic hasn’t listed prices for the new holiday items, and prices vary by location. Check the Sonic app for prices near you.
What is the Sonic $7 Big Deal Meal?
A refreshed value meal for $7. It includes a Sonic Cheeseburger, medium tots or fries, small Premium Chicken Bites and a medium soft drink or iced tea, according to Sonic.
How do you get the Sonic holiday menu early?
Order through the Sonic app. App users can get the new items starting Oct. 26, a week before everyone else, according to Sonic.
The app also has deals and lets you skip the wait by ordering ahead.
What was on Sonic’s winter menu last year?
Sonic’s 2024 winter menu included the Double and Triple Sonic Queso Smasher, a Buttery Brew root beer drink, a Sparkling Sugar Cookie Dr Pepper and a Red Velvet Cake Batter Shake, according to a Sonic release.
This year’s Smasher swaps the queso for smoked gouda and bacon.
Can you get Sonic holiday drinks for less?
Possibly. Sonic’s long-running Happy Hour has offered half-price drinks and Slushes in the afternoon at participating locations. Deals vary by store, so check the app before you go.
Sonic also lets you customize drinks with flavor add-ins, so you can make the Merry Berry Fizz or Holiday Creamy Vanilla your own.
Does Sonic give back to schools?
Yes. Sonic donates part of its Drink, Slush, Blast and Shake sales to public schools through its Limeades for Learning program. It has donated more than $32 million since 2009, according to Sonic.
That means your Santa Slush Float helps support local teachers, too.
Who owns Sonic?
Inspire Brands, which also owns Arby’s, Dunkin’ and Buffalo Wild Wings. Sonic is known for its drive-in stalls and carhops, who sometimes deliver orders on roller skates.
The chain also has one of the biggest drink menus in fast food, with tons of soda, Slush and shake combinations.
