Sonic’s Wacky Pack site lists Transformers, Furby, Super Soaker, Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony toys as coming soon, part of a 10-toy Hasbro Retro set for kids meals.
Plenty of parents spent the 1998 holiday season driving store to store looking for a Furby. The kids who got one are old enough now to order their own kids a Wacky Pack, and Sonic is about to put a Furby in it.
Sonic Drive-In and Hasbro are bringing a set of retro toys to Sonic’s Wacky Pack kids meals. Sonic’s Wacky Pack website lists toys from Transformers, Furby, Nerf Super Soaker, Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony as coming soon.
Transformers fan site TFormers posted the promo art on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The artwork calls the set Hasbro Retro and promises 10 toys to collect.
What toys are in Sonic’s Hasbro Retro Wacky Pack?
Two from each brand, going by the promo art:
Transformers: Optimus Prime and Megatron, as stubby little robots in their original 1980s look
Furby: one yellow with blue ears, one pink with green ears
Nerf Super Soaker: two mini Super Soakers, one yellow and green, one pink and purple
Littlest Pet Shop: a cat riding a pink spoon and a puppy riding a blue one
My Little Pony: a lavender pony and an orange pony with apples on its side
Sonic’s toys are for kids 3 and up, according to its site. Families with younger kids can ask for a Red Button’s World board book with the meal.
The fine print says each Wacky Pack comes with one toy and the toy “may vary with order.” So you might not get the one you’re after on the first try.
When do the retro Hasbro toys come to Sonic?
Sonic hasn’t announced a date. Its site says “coming soon,” and TFormers reported the toys are for “this holiday season.”
Right now, the Wacky Pack toys are Universal Monsters, which Sonic pitched as a Halloween set.
The file name for the Hasbro art on Sonic’s site starts with “2026-11.” Sonic labels its older promo art the same way, by year and month, like “2026-06” for June’s Hot Wheels Fast Foodies. So November looks likely, but it isn’t official yet.
The toys will only be at participating Sonic Drive-Ins, for a limited time and while supplies last.
Didn’t Burger King just do Hasbro toys?
It did, back in March. Burger King’s King Jr. Meals had eight Hasbro toys, two each from Furby, My Little Pony, Transformers and Nerf, Sporked reported March 20.
Burger King’s picks included Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
Sonic’s set adds Littlest Pet Shop and swaps Bumblebee for Megatron. TFormers calls Sonic’s robots G1 figures, which is fan shorthand for the original 1980s designs.
Has Sonic done Transformers toys before?
Yes, in 2023. That year’s Wacky Pack had Transformers: EarthSpark figures of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Elita-1 and Terran Twitch. Pull off a figure’s head, and there was a spoon underneath, TFormers reported at the time.
Sonic really likes a spoon. The current Universal Monsters set is “toys and spoons,” per Sonic’s site, and this time the Littlest Pet Shop pets are the ones riding them.
How old are Furby, Super Soaker and the rest?
Some of them are older than the parents doing the ordering. My Little Pony is the senior member, launched by Hasbro in 1982. Transformers came along in 1984 as a joint venture between Hasbro and Japan’s Takara, with Optimus Prime turning into a semi truck.
The Super Soaker came from Lonnie Johnson, an Air Force and NASA engineer. It went on sale in 1990 as the Power Drencher, got its famous name in 1991 and has topped $1 billion in sales. Hasbro bought its maker, Larami, in 1995 and folded the brand into Nerf in 2010.
Littlest Pet Shop started at Kenner in 1992. Hasbro brought it back with a new look in 2005, and Basic Fun has made the toys under license since 2024.
Furby went on sale Oct. 2, 1998, for about $35. About 1.8 million sold that year, and 14 million more in 1999.
Furby turned 28 on Oct. 2. Its birthday present is a seat in a Sonic bag, right next to the fries.
