A Muppets pre-show has been added to World of Color: ONE at Disney California Adventure. Kermit, Gonzo and friends deliver the safety rules as a song on the water screens.
Safety announcements don’t usually get applause. This one does.
A Muppets pre-show is now running before World of Color: ONE at Disney California Adventure, WDW News Today reported. Kermit the Frog and Gonzo show up on the water and lead a goofy song about the rules, with the rest of the gang jumping in.
Disney’s own show page mentions it, too, saying the Muppets “step into the spotlight to share safety announcements.”
What happens in the Muppets pre-show?
It runs just under five minutes and plays on the fountains and water screens over Paradise Bay.
Kermit tries to get through the safety rules. Things fall apart almost immediately. The running gag is a simple one: don’t jump in the bay. After the bit ends, regular announcers repeat the important parts in English and Spanish.
Which Muppets are in the World of Color pre-show?
When this pre-show first ran last year, it included a big chunk of the cast:
Kermit the Frog
Gonzo
Miss Piggy
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
Sam Eagle
Rowlf
Scooter
There’s also an original character created for the bit, a lawyer type called Joe the Legal Weasel, which is a very Muppets thing to invent for a safety speech.
Disney’s website currently names Kermit and Gonzo.
Is the Muppets pre-show new?
Not exactly, and this is where it gets a little confusing.
The pre-show debuted in May 2025, ahead of World of Color Happiness!, the show Disney ran for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. When World of Color: ONE returned in August, the Muppets bit didn’t come back with it.
Now it’s been added to ONE. So it’s a return, not a debut.
Is it permanent?
Disney hasn’t said. There’s been no announcement and no word on how long it’ll stick around.
If you want to see it, the safe move is to catch it soon.
What is World of Color: ONE?
It’s the nighttime water show at Disney California Adventure, running about 24 minutes on Paradise Bay.
It debuted in 2023 as part of Disney100, Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration, and it tells a story about how one person can change everything, using clips and music from across Disney and Pixar.
The show itself hasn’t changed. Only the opening is different.
It usually runs once or twice a night, depending on the park schedule, so check the Disneyland app for showtimes and arrive early if you want a spot along the railing.
Where else can you find the Muppets at Disney parks?
The Muppets are in a transition right now.
Muppet*Vision 3D closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 8, 2025, after 34 years, to make room for the coming Monstropolis area. Muppets Courtyard went with it.
But the Muppets aren’t leaving Disney World. Disney is reimagining Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with the Muppets, and even found a spot in it for Statler and Waldorf, the two hecklers from the balcony.
Is The Muppet Show’s 50th anniversary happening now?
Yes. The Muppet Show turned 50 this year, and Disney has been rolling out merchandise for it, including mugs and RSVLTS shirts that hit shops this month.
Between the anniversary, the coaster plans and now a nightly appearance in front of World of Color, Kermit is having a busy year. Not bad for a frog who mostly wants everyone to stay out of the water.
