The hit webtoon becomes a K-drama starring Shin Min A, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk and Lee Se Young. Four episodes drop Nov. 4, plus more K-dramas coming in November.
One of the biggest romance webtoons around is finally a K-drama, and it’s coming to Disney+ and Hulu next week.
The Remarried Empress premieres Wednesday, Nov. 4, with four episodes, according to Disney’s November schedule. Two more episodes arrive each Wednesday after that, on Nov. 11 and 18, and the final two land Nov. 25, for 10 episodes total.
In the U.S., Disney’s press schedule lists it as a Hulu Original, and it’ll stream on both Disney+ and Hulu. An English dub is available, too.
Who is in The Remarried Empress cast?
It’s a stacked lineup:
Shin Min A as Empress Navier
Ju Ji Hoon as Emperor Sovieshu
Lee Jong Suk as Prince Heinrey
Lee Se Young as Rashta
If those names sound familiar, you’ve probably seen them before. Shin Min A starred in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Ju Ji Hoon led Netflix’s zombie hit Kingdom, Lee Jong Suk headlined While You Were Sleeping and Big Mouth, and Lee Se Young won fans in The Red Sleeve.
Cho Su Won directed the series, and Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong Yeol wrote it. The four stars walked the red carpet together at this month’s Busan International Film Festival.
What is The Remarried Empress about?
Empress Navier seems to have it all, until her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, falls for Rashta, a runaway slave, and asks Navier for a divorce.
She agrees, with one condition. She wants to marry the prince of the rival Western Kingdom, Heinrey.
The story comes from the hugely popular NAVER webtoon of the same name. It started as a web novel by the writer Alphatart before the webtoon version took off around the world.
