TWICE’s Dahyun and actor Cha Woo-min have been cast as the leads in a new romance film, Clouds Roll Like Gureumi, Soompi reported Tuesday. The movie comes from director Choi Sun-min, one of the directors behind the hit K-drama King the Land.
Is Dahyun really in a new movie?
Yes. The production company, npio Entertainment, confirmed it.
“It is true that Dahyun and Cha Woo Min have been cast as the leads in the film ‘Clouds Roll Like Gureumi,’” the company said, as translated by Soompi.
The cast has already finished its first script reading, according to Soompi and MyDramaList.
What is Clouds Roll Like Gureumi about?
It’s a youth romance about two students who clash a lot, then slowly start to lean on each other.
Dahyun plays Oh Gu-reum, an art student who answers rude comments with even sharper comebacks. Cha Woo-min plays Kim Jun-san, a physical education student who focuses on swimming.
So think art major versus swimmer. Expect a lot of bickering before the sweet stuff.
The Korean title is “Gureumi Gureumi.” “Gureum” is the Korean word for cloud, which is also a play on her character’s name.
When does Clouds Roll Like Gureumi come out?
No release date has been announced yet. Filming dates haven’t been shared either.
It’s also not clear yet whether it’ll go to theaters or straight to streaming, so international fans will have to wait to find out how they can watch.
Who is director Choi Sun-min?
Choi co-directed several JTBC dramas, including King the Land with Lee Jun-ho and Im Yoon-ah and Miss Night and Day, Soompi reported.
King the Land was a big hit on Netflix, so the director has experience with bright, swoony romance.
