The music video for “Perfect World” passed 100 million views on YouTube Tuesday evening, U.S. time. Soompi reported it crossed the line around 8:18 a.m. Wednesday in Korea, which was 7:18 p.m. Tuesday on the East Coast.
That makes it TWICE’s 27th music video to reach 100 million. No other girl group has more.
How long did it take Perfect World to reach 100 million views?
A little over five years. Five years, two months and 24 days, to be exact, per Soompi.
The video came out June 29, 2021, U.S. time. It had a huge first day, about 3.9 million views, and pulled in roughly 21 million more that July, per the YouTube tracking site Kworb.
After that it slowed way down. Lately it’s been adding somewhere around 8,000 to 10,000 views a day, so the last stretch to 100 million was a slow walk.
What is TWICE’s Perfect World song?
It’s a Japanese-language single, and the title track of TWICE’s third Japanese studio album, also called Perfect World.
The song is a fast dance track about a confident woman nothing can shake. Risa Horie wrote the Japanese lyrics. The choreography came from the dance crew Lachica.
