Mars announced its 2027 snacks Oct. 5, including Twix Frosted Cookie, Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll M&M’s, Skittles Crystals and Buffalo Wild Wings Pringles, all due in stores next year.
Twix is getting frosted, and that might not even be the strangest thing Mars has planned for 2027.
Mars announced its 2027 lineup of new snacks on Monday, Oct. 5, and the list runs from Twix Frosted Cookie to Cheez-It Protein. Mars says all of them hit shelves nationwide next year.
“Our research and development teams know what’s next, and our 2027 lineup is built to capture cultural trends,” said Tim LeBel, chief customer officer for Mars Snacking North America.
What is Twix Frosted Cookie?
A Twix with a shortbread base, a “smooth, vanilla-flavored creme” and a milk chocolate coating, according to Mars.
Snack spotter Markie Devo posted the packaging Oct. 5, crediting Mars for the image. The wrapper is pale blue, and it labels the flavor as artificial. There’s a regular two-bar pack and a four-bar share size.
Mars hasn’t announced a release date or a price yet.
Twix itself goes back almost 60 years. Mars first made it in the U.K. in 1967, and it came to the U.S. in the late 1970s. The “Pick a Side” Left Twix and Right Twix ads started in 2012.
What new snacks is Mars releasing in 2027?
Seven, according to the company’s announcement:
Twix Frosted Cookie: shortbread, vanilla-flavored creme and milk chocolate
Cheez-It Protein: the sharp cheese cracker, now with 7 grams of protein per serving
M&M’s Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll: peanut butter with a cinnamon roll taste, in a candy shell
Pringles Buffalo Wild Wings: three flavors based on the restaurant’s sauces, Parmesan Garlic, Medium Buffalo and Asian Zing
Skittles Crystals: squishy gummies with tangy, crunchy edible crystals, in Original and Tropical Splash
Snickers Almond Xtreme: chocolate, caramel and extra almonds
Combos Honey Sriracha: a baked pretzel shell with a sweet-and-spicy honey sriracha filling
Why are Cheez-It and Pringles part of Mars now?
Mars bought them. The candy company finished buying Kellanova, the maker of Cheez-It, Pringles and Pop-Tarts, in December 2025.
That’s why a Mars snack preview now has crackers, chips and pretzels next to the chocolate. Mars also brought samples of Pop-Tarts, Rice Krispies Treats, Nutri-Grain, KIND and RXBAR to the show.
When can you try Twix Frosted Cookie?
Store buyers went first. Mars brought samples of the new lineup to the NACS Show expo, the convenience store industry’s big trade show, from Oct. 7 to 9 in Las Vegas.
For everyone else, it’s 2027. Mars says the new products “will hit shelves nationwide next year,” but it hasn’t given dates for any of them.
Which one is the weirdest?
Probably the Pringles. Buffalo Wild Wings sauces on a stackable chip is the closest thing on the list to a sports bar in a can.
The Skittles Crystals are a close second. Mars describes them as gummies with “the tangy crunch of edible crystals,” and the bags in its product photo call them Skittles Gummy Crystals.
Are Snickers candy canes part of Mars’ 2027 lineup?
They’re a separate product, and they’re already here. Snickers candy canes, made by Dum-Dums maker Spangler Candy, turned up at Stop & Shop on Oct. 2, according to Markie Devo. They aren’t in Mars’ 2027 announcement.
The new Snickers for 2027 is the Almond Xtreme bar, with extra almonds.
So Twix gets the frosting, Snickers gets more nuts, and Cheez-It gets protein. Next year’s candy aisle is going to be busy.
