Universal Orlando’s CityWalk hosts the Oztacular Spectacular on Saturday, Oct. 24, with Glinda and Elphaba meet-and-greets, film costumes, trivia, and a yellow brick dance floor. No park ticket needed.
Universal is turning CityWalk a little bit green for one day.
Universal Orlando Resort will host the Oztacular Spectacular, a Wicked fan event at Universal CityWalk, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from noon to 7 p.m.
CityWalk doesn’t require park admission, so you don’t need a theme park ticket to go.
What’s happening at the Wicked Oztacular Spectacular?
Meet-and-greets with Glinda and Elphaba
Stained-glass photo spots inspired by the films
Costumes and props from the Wicked movies on display
A DJ playing music from both films on a yellow brick road dance floor
Wicked trivia, with exclusive prizes
Wicked merchandise at the Universal Legacy Store
The costumes and props are the big draw for movie fans, since Universal made both Wicked films.
Is the Wicked event at CityWalk free?
Universal hasn’t listed a cost, but it should be free to attend.
Parking is another story. Universal Orlando charges for its garages, so if you’re driving in, budget for that or check Universal’s site for current CityWalk parking rules before you go.
Why is Universal doing a Wicked event now?
Wicked is a Universal movie, and the timing lines up with the fall season.
Universal Pictures released Wicked in November 2024 and Wicked: For Good in November 2025. Both movies starred Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.
The first film passed Mamma Mia! in December 2024 to become the biggest Broadway musical adaptation ever at the worldwide box office, per Variety. Wicked: For Good then opened to about $150 million, the biggest debut ever for a Broadway adaptation, per Variety. Both films were directed by Jon M. Chu, and the soundtrack kept fans singing “Popular” long after the credits rolled.
Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood have both run Wicked experiences in their parks around the movies’ releases, including Wicked: The Experience at Universal Studios Florida, per Universal’s own blog. This one is a one-day fan event, not a long-running attraction, so if you want to go, Oct. 24 is the only day!
What else is new at Universal CityWalk?
Two bars themed to The Traitors: New Blood, per Fantasy Land News.
They’re inside Universal’s Great Movie Escape, the escape room building at CityWalk:
The Library is on the first floor, and The Roundtable is on the second.
Both bars are open Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 11 p.m., and have set pieces, props and costumes worn by host Alan Cumming, plus specialty drinks inspired by the show. You don’t need an escape room ticket to visit.
The Traitors moved from Peacock to NBC this fall, and New Blood casts everyday people instead of reality stars. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream on Peacock the next day, per Fantasy Land News.
Should you plan a trip around the Wicked event?
If you’re a big Wicked fan and already near Orlando, it’s an easy yes. It’s free, it’s on a Saturday, and it doesn’t need a park ticket.
If you’re flying in, it’s better as a bonus than a reason.
Pair it with a Universal park day, or with Halloween Horror Nights at night. Horror Nights 35 runs on select nights through Nov. 1, per Inside Universal, and Oct. 24 is a Saturday in peak Halloween season.
Just don’t wear green to Horror Nights and expect anybody to be scared of you.
