Universal Kids Resort Is Getting Roasted Online For Their Attractions
New "Kids" Resort Preview Isn't Going The Way Universal Wanted
Universal has been promoting its new “Universal Kids” Resort in Frisco, Texas, by having a lot of the “friendly media” visit the park. It’s not going the way they likely hoped.
While the park doesn’t officially open until July 1, 2026, media were invited early to experience the new offerings, but many wonder where the money was spent.
My son even said, “I guess they spent all the money on Epic Universe.”
Others are defending the lackluster attractions as being “for kids”, but so are rides at Universal Studios and Universal Orlando that are far superior to these.
Also, why is the excuse for poorly done work (be it animation or theme parks) always “It’s for kids,” as if kids don’t deserve 100% like everyone else?
As a parent of kids, I wouldn’t pay full price or top dollar for “just for kids” quality that was lacking. The entire reason I go to Universal or Walt Disney World is that I know the attractions will be higher quality than with some local parks.
This park seems thrown together with themed out-of-the-box carnival attractions.
However, the price point is only about $55 for a one-day pass, and kids under 2 get in free. That makes it a little more acceptable.
But I digress.
Here is a look at some of the offerings at the new Universal Kids Resort
It’s just themed rides you would get at a local amusement park.
People are roasting this park, and I understand why. Being that it’s “Universal” one expects much more!
“Didn't know Temu started making theme parks.” -chrisleb386
“Let me remind you, this is the same company that made Battle at the Ministry” - Alejandro Fernandez
“So this looks worse than Splish Splash / Dorney Park / Sesame Place …And to see this come from Universal is quite disappointing and underwhelming lol”- Lucas K
“Is this for real? After all the hype this looks terrible. I’ve taken my kids on better rides at local farms where you can pick your own fruit.” - The Blot
“This looks like the landscape section of a garden center with cartoon cutouts.” - Chris Dugan
“Quite possibly the lamest theme park I’ve ever seen. Worse than opening day DCA, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Hollywood even 25 years ago is more impressive than this. Universal should be embarrassed this is what they think families deserve in the late 2020s.” - Ben Zacuto
“This literally looks like it was installed in someone’s backyard over a couple of days tops.” - Mark
“Whos gonna brave 110+ heat index for this lol? In 5 years this will either squeak by like Legoland Florida and grow, or end up on Poseidon Entertainment” - Shadow Dragon
This is not looking good.
