Once Halloween Horror Nights ends Nov. 1, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure close at 7 p.m. on many November days. Here’s what that means for your trip.
Halloween Horror Nights wraps up Sunday, Nov. 1. The next morning, Universal Orlando gets a lot more early-to-bed.
Starting Monday, Nov. 2, Universal Studios Florida is scheduled to run 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Universal’s published hours as listed by TouringPlans. Islands of Adventure runs 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Epic Universe runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
That’s a big drop from Horror Nights season, when the parks flip into haunted houses after dark. Now dinner time is closing time on a bunch of fall dates.
The good news is the holiday parade comes back Nov. 14. Here’s all of last year’s Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, from MouseSteps:
Which days does Universal Orlando close at 7 p.m.?
Inside the Magic lists these dates with the short schedule (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Universal Studios Florida, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Islands of Adventure and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Epic Universe):
Nov. 2 to 4
Nov. 6 to 10
Nov. 14, 16, 18 and 29
Dec. 3, 10 and 16
We spot-checked Nov. 2, Nov. 18 and Nov. 29 against TouringPlans, which posts Universal’s official hours. Nov. 2 and Nov. 18 match. On Nov. 29, Epic Universe is listed closing at 7 p.m., an hour earlier than the list says.
Hours can change, so look at Universal’s calendar or the app before you lock in dinner plans.
Does Universal still have early park admission in November?
Yes, on at least some of these days. TouringPlans shows Early Park Admission starting at 8 a.m. at Islands of Adventure and 9 a.m. at Epic Universe on Nov. 2 and Nov. 18. It doesn’t list early entry for Universal Studios Florida those days.
So the smart play, if you’re staying at a Universal hotel, is going early. You get an extra hour in the morning to make up for the hour or two you lose at night.
Are there late nights at Universal over Thanksgiving?
There are. The day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 27, TouringPlans lists Universal Studios Florida open until 8 p.m. and both Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe open until 9 p.m.
Holiday weeks usually get longer hours, so expect Christmas week and New Year’s Eve to stretch out too. Universal hasn’t posted every one of those times yet, so check closer to your trip.
When do the holidays start at Universal Orlando in 2026?
The holiday season runs Saturday, Nov. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027, Universal announced in August, WFTV reported. The lineup:
Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s at Universal Studios Florida
Grinchmas at Islands of Adventure
Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in all three parks
Celestial Park at Epic Universe as a “cosmic winter wonderland”
It’s also the first holiday season with decorations in Super Nintendo World and How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk at Epic Universe, per Universal.
On short days, the parade still runs. TouringPlans lists it at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 and Nov. 29, so you can catch the giant balloons and still be out by 7.
Is Jurassic Park River Adventure open again?
It hasn’t reopened yet. The Islands of Adventure water ride closed in January for what Universal called planned maintenance, and Inside Universal reported a reopening date of Nov. 19 at the time.
Universal warned the dates could change, and several fan sites have since reported delays. If the river ride is on your must-do list, check the app the week you go.
Is a shorter Universal day still worth it?
Depends how you plan it. A 9-hour day at Islands of Adventure is still a full day if you show up early, ride the big stuff first and save shopping for the end.
Where it bites is the park-to-park ticket crowd. Two parks in one 9-hour day is a sprint, and a 7 p.m. close means you’ll eat dinner at CityWalk, not in the park. Plenty of folks will tell you that’s not the worst thing in the world.
