The California athleisure brand is taking over the old Shore store in Disney Springs’ Town Center. Its sign went up Oct. 7, and Disney still hasn’t said when the store will open.
The Vuori sign is officially hanging at Disney Springs.
WDW News Today spotted the big white Vuori sign over the door of the brand’s future store in Town Center on Oct. 7. By Oct. 9, ads covered the front door too, MickeyBlog reported.
What nobody has yet is a date. Disney hasn’t announced when the store opens.
When does Vuori open at Disney Springs?
No date has been announced. The work has been moving, though:
May: a permit listed Vuori as the new tenant for the empty Shore space.
June 22: Disney Springs confirmed Vuori in an Instagram story.
Late summer: crews repainted the awnings tan with black frames. They used to be all black.
Late September: Disney filed a permit for the store’s sign.
Oct. 7: the sign went up.
Signs usually go up near the end of a store buildout, so it may not be long. That’s a guess, not a date.
What was in the Vuori space at Disney Springs before?
Shore, a clothing and accessories shop that was one of the first tenants in Town Center when that part of Disney Springs opened about 10 years ago. It closed for good May 1 after a clearance sale.
Shore still has a store in Longboat Key, Florida, plus its online shop.
What is Vuori?
Vuori is an athletic and athleisure clothing brand from Southern California, founded in 2015 by Joe Kudla. Think joggers, shorts and soft pullovers that are fine for a workout and fine for a long day of walking.
It’s grown fast. In November 2024, Vuori announced an $825 million investment led by General Atlantic and Stripes, and NBC News reported that deal valued the company at $5.5 billion.
Vuori’s store locator lists 144 Vuori stores, 126 of them in the U.S.
Does Orlando already have a Vuori store?
Yes, two. Vuori has stores at the Mall at Millenia and at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, on Vineland Avenue near Lake Buena Vista, according to its store locator.
So Disney Springs would be its third in the Orlando area, and the only one you can walk to from a Disney World boat.
Is Vuori like lululemon?
That’s the comparison everyone makes. NBC News’ story on Vuori’s growth was literally about the brand taking share from Lululemon.
And at Disney Springs, Vuori will have that rival nearby. Lululemon already has a Disney Springs store, listed on Disney World’s own Disney Springs page.
For park people, it’s the same pitch either way. Comfy clothes that can survive 20,000 steps and still look decent at dinner.
What else is changing at Disney Springs?
Disney Springs has had a busy few weeks:
Cole Haan opened Sept. 29 in the old Johnston & Murphy spot, WDW News Today reported.
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill served its last guests Sept. 13, ending the chef’s nearly three-decade run at Disney Springs.
Hallmark’s “Holiday Ever After” pop-up shop opened Oct. 7.
Crystal Arts added a Silhouette Studio on Oct. 9, where you can buy character silhouettes or get your own cut, MickeyBlog reported.
That’s a lot of churn for one shopping district, and Vuori is the latest piece. When Disney finally sets a date, it’ll probably come with the usual Instagram post.
