Wendy’s is releasing WendyQuest: Legend of the Four Corner Stones, a free retro-style RPG on Steam where Wendy battles parody villains like Golden Archers and Mech Chicken.
Wendy’s is leveling up.
Wendy’s is releasing a free video game called WendyQuest: Legend of the Four Corner Stones on Steam, according to Dexerto. It’s a retro-style role-playing game with pixel art and turn-based battles, inspired by classic games like Final Fantasy.
There’s no release date yet, but fans can add it to their Steam wishlist now.
What is WendyQuest about?
Wendy, the chain’s redheaded mascot, becomes a sword-swinging hero who must save the kingdom of Savoria, Dexerto reported.
The evil Mech Corp and Dr. Mechborg have unleashed a curse called “Mechtosis,” and Wendy has to collect four magical stones to stop it.
Who are the villains in WendyQuest?
Food-themed bad guys that poke fun at McDonald’s. Enemies include “Big Mech,” “Mech Chicken,” “Golden Archers“ and “Hot Sludge Sundaes,” according to Dexerto.
Wendy’s has a long history of teasing McDonald’s on social media, so the jokes fit right in.
Who helps Wendy in WendyQuest?
Three menu-inspired companions: the French Fry Archer, the Spicy Chickeneer and the Frosty Mage, Dexerto reported.
Together, they travel through five food-themed regions, including salty forests, seasoned deserts and Frosty-capped mountains.
How do battles work in WendyQuest?
Turn-based, like old-school RPGs. Players can time their attacks during battles to deal extra damage, according to Dexerto.
Does WendyQuest give you free Wendy’s food?
Possibly. The game promises food rewards for playing, but the developers haven’t explained how they’ll work yet, Dexerto reported.
Who made WendyQuest?
Game studio 81monkeys. The game’s Steam page calls it “100% fresh and 100% human-made,” a nod to Wendy’s “fresh, never frozen” beef slogan.
Even the system requirements are jokes, including a “Potato” processor.
When does WendyQuest come out?
Wendy’s hasn’t announced a release date. The game is free on Steam, so fans can wishlist it to get notified when it launches.
What is a JRPG?
A Japanese-style role-playing game. JRPGs like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger are known for big quests, a party of heroes and turn-based battles where you pick moves from a menu.
WendyQuest borrows that classic 16-bit look, with pixel-art characters and menu-based fights.
How do you get WendyQuest on Steam?
Search for WendyQuest in the Steam store and click Add to your wishlist. Steam will send you a notice when the game is released.
You’ll need a free Steam account. Dexerto only mentioned Steam, so there’s no word yet on console or mobile versions.
Has Wendy’s made a game before?
Yes. In 2019, Wendy’s released Feast of Legends, a free tabletop role-playing game in the style of Dungeons & Dragons, complete with a rulebook full of food puns.
WendyQuest takes that idea to video games.
What other fast-food chains have made video games?
Several. McDonald’s released a Game Boy Color-style Grimace game, and KFC made a Colonel Sanders dating sim, according to Dexerto.
McDonald’s also teamed up with Square Enix on a Dragon Quest promotion earlier in 2026, Dexerto reported. Fast-food games have become a fun way for brands to reach gamers, especially on social media.
Why is Wendy’s making an RPG?
To connect with gamers. Wendy’s is known for its funny, nerdy social media posts, and the brand has embraced gaming culture for years with tabletop games, streams and in-game promotions.
A free game on Steam puts Wendy, her fries and her Frosty right where many fans already spend their time.
