Who is Sweet Pete, and Why Is He Bitter?
Disney has a character that is of sudden interest to the internet, and his name is “Sweet Pete”. “Pete” is short for Peter Pan because the character was supposed to have played Pan in the 1953 movie, but grew up to become a crime boss in the 2022 “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” film on Disney+.
Sweet Pete, voiced by Will Arnett, was digruntaled for being cast out of Hollywood, so he turns to crime. Taking cartoon characters and turning them into the bootleg versions of popular characters overseas.
The lore states that Pete was fired after he grew older, and he is angry at United States media companies. He wants to get payback by knocking off their films for overseas markets, so he starts “Faux Studios” and makes bootleg films, including making a bootleg “Peter Pan” film called “Flying Bedroom Boy”.
Throughout the film, he would cause famous characters to go into debt and then kidnap them when they couldn’t pay that debt. Then, using a machine to change their appearances enough to evade copyright laws, he would make them work on bootleg films inside his warehouse, where he also creates port-a-potties.
