Yes, The View Is Going on Hiatus
Social media is in a tizzy today as people are all talking about “The View” going on hiatus. Many wonder if it’s indefinite and if they will return.
The short answer is -they are returning.
“The View” takes a hiatus every year at this time. While it is a few days earlier than usual. For some reason people think this means it is not coming back.
Apparently, the misunderstanding has arisen with Joy Behar accidentally announcing the hiatus a day before it was to begin.
Here is what Joy said,
“Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?”
A producer responded with “Doesn’t really matter.”
The show normally takes off for August and returns on Labor Day. This year they added a few days at the end of July to the break, with the hiatus starting after the show tomorrow, July 25.
Given all the trouble “The View” has run into the last few years with the hosts making out of turn comments, calling out a business, and constant Trump comments, it is understandable why some might think the show is ending.
CBS is canceling Stephen Colbert next year, and talking heads are becoming less and less popular with people. However, morning shows and late-night shows usually have different demographics, and advertisers might not be bowing out of the daytime shows like they have been with late-night.
Either way, “The View” is reportedly returning on Labor Day. Unless Disney cancels it in the meantime.
