K-drama stars Yoo Seung-ho and Lim Se-joo dated for about six years after meeting on tvN’s Memorist. Both agencies confirmed on Oct. 8 that the couple has since split.
Two K-drama actors confirmed a six-year relationship and a breakup on the same day.
Yoo Seung-ho and Lim Se-joo dated for about six years after meeting on the tvN drama Memorist, and they’ve since broken up. Both of their agencies confirmed it on Oct. 8, Korea JoongAng Daily reported.
The two had kept the relationship private the whole time. Fans found out it existed and that it was over in one news cycle.
How did Yoo Seung-ho and Lim Se-joo meet?
They met on the set of Memorist, which aired on tvN in 2020.
Yoo played Dong Baek, a detective who can read people’s memories by touching them. Lim was part of the supporting cast.
Korean outlet Edaily first reported that the two had dated for about six years, starting after they worked together on the show.
What did Yoo Seung-ho’s agency say?
Yoo’s agency, 333, confirmed the two were “previously in a relationship but have since broken up,” according to Korea JoongAng Daily’s translation.
The agency added that they “remain on good terms as colleagues.”
Lim’s agency, Moving Pictures Company, also confirmed the couple dated for about six years before splitting. Neither agency said when the breakup happened.
Who is Yoo Seung-ho?
Yoo has been acting since he was a kid. He became famous in South Korea for the 2002 film The Way Home, playing a city boy who spends a summer with his grandmother in the countryside.
His credits go back to the MBC drama Daddy Fish in 2000, and he grew up on screen from there. His dramas include:
Queen Seondeok (2009)
Warrior Baek Dong-soo (2011)
Missing You (2012)
Remember: War of the Son (2015)
I’m Not a Robot (2017)
Memorist (2020)
One of his best-known rom-coms is I’m Not a Robot, where he played a man so allergic to people that he falls for what he thinks is a robot. She isn’t one.
He’s done movies too, including Blind (2011) and Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River (2016).
More recently, he played a villain in a special appearance on Season 2 of SBS’s Flex X Cop, Korea JoongAng Daily noted.

Her TV work includes She Was Pretty (2015), Maestra: Strings of Truth (2023) and A Killer Paradox (2024).
A Killer Paradox is a Netflix series, so it’s an easy place to start if you’re in the U.S. She Was Pretty starred Hwang Jung-eum and Park Seo-joon and was a big hit when it aired on MBC.
You’ll also see her name spelled Im Se-joo or Lim Se-ju in English, depending on the outlet. They’re all the same actress.
What is Memorist about?
Memorist is a crime thriller based on a Daum webtoon. It aired on tvN in the spring of 2020.
Yoo’s detective uses his memory-reading power to chase a serial killer, alongside a sharp criminal profiler played by Lee Se-young.
It’s a good pick if you want to see the two actors share the screen.
The show ran 16 episodes. The relationship that started on its set lasted about six years.
