Leaked promo materials show six Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Meal toys, including a rare gold Hello Kitty. Burger King hasn’t confirmed it. See the lineup and the dates so far.
Hello Kitty is about to swap the Happy Meal for a crown, if the leaks are right.
Burger King is reportedly getting a set of six Hello Kitty and Friends toys for its King Jr. Meals, starting Tuesday, Oct. 20. The lineup includes a rare gold Hello Kitty.
Food news account Snackolator posted the details on X Saturday night, calling the toys “rumored” and “stinkin adorable.” The post had more than 80,000 views by early Sunday.
Burger King and Sanrio haven’t announced anything yet. So treat the date as a strong rumor for now.
What Hello Kitty toys is Burger King getting?
Six figures, according to images that have been circulating since mid-September, Attractions Magazine reported. In the images, every character wears a little Burger King crown:
Hello Kitty, holding a hamburger
Gold Hello Kitty, a metallic version with a bow and crown
Kuromi, in her black hood
My Melody, in her pink hood and bow
Cinnamoroll, holding a blue drink cup
Keroppi, holding a carton of nuggets
They reportedly come in blind bags, so you won’t know which character you got until you open it.
Burger King has done the mystery-packaging thing before, with Nintendo-themed toys a few years back, Attractions Magazine noted.
How rare is the gold Hello Kitty?
Pretty rare, if the leak holds up.
The gold figure has a 5% pull rate, according to the leaked materials, Dexerto reported. That works out to about one in every 20 bags, on average.
So yes, people are going to be buying a lot of King Jr. Meals.
When do the Burger King Hello Kitty toys come out?
Oct. 20 is the date making the rounds now. But the leaks haven’t agreed.
Essential Japan reported in September that promo materials sent to franchisees listed a run from Oct. 10 through Nov. 30. Another circulating post listed Oct. 20 through Nov. 30, Attractions Magazine noted.
Snackolator’s Saturday post went with Oct. 20. Either way, the promotion would wrap up at the end of November.
Has Burger King confirmed the Hello Kitty collab?
No. As of Sunday, Burger King and Sanrio hadn’t publicly announced it, and we couldn’t find an official post from either company.
There’s one more thing to watch for. Not every image floating around is real. Attractions Magazine reported that one widely shared flyer, with a pink meal box and branded packaging, was labeled AI-made by its creator.
It’s also still unclear whether the toys come only with King Jr. Meals or can be bought on their own, Dexerto noted.
Didn’t McDonald’s just do Hello Kitty?
It did. McDonald’s Hello Kitty and Godzilla crossover hit Happy Meals on Aug. 18, mixing Sanrio characters with kaiju. That set had eight toys, Dexerto noted.
The Burger King set would keep the Sanrio crew on its own, with no monsters, Attractions Magazine noted.
And Burger King has been on a toy streak. Last month, it rolled out a Dragon Ball menu with six toys and a Super Saiyan Sauce.
Has Burger King worked with Hello Kitty before?
In France, yes. Burger King’s French restaurants offered blind-box Hello Kitty and Friends socks earlier this year, plus Sanrio-themed King Jr. Meal games, Essential Japan reported.
What else is Hello Kitty up to this fall?
Plenty. Hello Kitty Party Land arrives Oct. 29 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, according to publisher Bandai Namco.
If the Burger King toys land Oct. 20, that’s two Hello Kitty drops in about 10 days.
Sanrio’s own site says “Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures” is streaming Season 14 now.
Where else can you find Hello Kitty and Friends?
The Sanrio crew has been everywhere this year. A few recent finds PNP has covered:
Kuromi x KATSEYE, a Sanrio collection at Target (Aug. 20)
Hello Kitty Jim Shore Christmas trees and Halloween pumpkins at Costco (Sept. 18)
Hello Kitty Halloween merch at Hot Topic (Aug. 7)
Stock moves fast on these, so check before you drive anywhere.
